This book is important and should be at the top of everyone’s reading list. It starts off with recognizing that ‘shit’s not working’, but the ‘road to change exists’. It outlines the important steps needed to lead in the way the world needs right now - for our sake and for the sake of our kids. It’s like sharing a bottle of wine with Belinda Clemmensen, and the wine is fueling a genius and purposeful plan for tomorrow!!! Highly recommended!

International Women's Day brings with it a chance to celebrate the strength, tenacity, and brilliance of women in every walk of life. For me in particular, it’s a chance to recognize all of the incredible women who are driving innovation in the tech, engineering and automotive spaces. I’ve been incredibly fortunate to work for a company which has empowered and supported me in all areas of my career, but we know that there’s still work to be done when it comes to getting girls in STEM industries. I’ve always believed that there is no relationship between gender and technical ability, and we need to get to a place where all girls feel emboldened to follow their passion with zero concern about societal acceptance. Sharing success stories is a way we can do that.

I found this posting by Adam Gorzeman very insightful. However, Adam doesn;t go far enough. While the relationship between Service and Quality is essential, and does put the customer front and center, I would argue that the real winner in the relationship is the patient. Keep in mind that in Diagnostics there were over 14 Billion clinical tests run last year, and over 75% of all clinical decisions are made using these test results. This will only increase with next generation tests in oncology, sepsis, Alzheimers, etc. One can conclude that by keeping instruments running, and addressing complaints and in-field product issues, the patient certainly is the beneficiary. Further, if you include development in the mix to partner on Design for Reliability, Manufacturability, and Servicability, the end result will be reliable instrumentation that always put out high quality results for use in diagnosing and treating patients. This past week, I had the opportunity during my immersion at Beckman Coulter Diagnostics to spend time with the service organization. While some companies see Service as a key revenue stream, and they are the indeed that, they are really the backbone and front line to the customer and the key to successful outcomes for patients. I've been fortunate work in organizations at Beckman Coulter, Hologic, and Roche Diagnostics that understand this important fact. #meddevices#quality#medtech#service#patientcentric#diagnostics#reliability

Embracing Everyday Equality: Moving Beyond Special Days for Women
International Women's Day serves as a reminder to celebrate the achievements and contributions of women globally. However, it's crucial to recognize that true equality goes beyond designated days. Instead of confining our acknowledgment to specific occasions, let's strive for a world where gender equality is woven into the fabric of our everyday lives. Normalizing equality means appreciating and respecting women's accomplishments consistently, fostering an environment where their achievements are recognized without the need for a special spotlight. In this way, we can build a society that doesn't just commemorate progress annually but actively promotes and practices gender equality every day.
