This is MASSIVE: Black Panthers founding member David Hilliard is backing Donald Trump for president, calling him an “ally of the black population.”

Our latest blog post is about two brothers from 1820s Philly; specifically from what is now called Washington Square West in Philadelphia. They both became important Black reconstruction leaders in the South. One became the first Black Florida Secretary of State and the other became the first Black elected judge in the United States. Learn more about the Gibbs brothers on our latest blog:

Sheriff of Broward County at Broward Sheriff's Office (BSO)
I've always kept a vision board listing my goals. Even as a boy in the Philadelphia projects, I was preparing to achieve my dreams. Through planning and preparation, I became the first in my family to graduate high school and college, then joined law enforcement, rising to become the Coral Springs Police Department's first black sergeant. I served in various capacities and received numerous awards.
Recognizing societal needs, I briefly left police work to found a company training in active shooter and mass casualty response. When the Broward Sheriff's Office needed leadership after the Marjory Stoneman Douglas tragedy, I accepted, becoming the first black sheriff in the organization's 109-year history.

I imagine a USA where race no longer predicts outcomes.
🎯 Baltimore Mayor Brandon M. Scott Nails IT! 🎯
The assault on DEI is really an assault on
➡ D Duly
➡ E Elected
➡ I Incumbents -
(Black people and "others" who exercise their rightful place in a democratic republic to represent the people)
and, by extension,
the right of any Black person to enjoy the rights and privileges of citizenship in an aspirational United States of America where race no longer predicts outcomes.
Blackness (which doesn't know its place) triggers whiteness since whiteness presumes a plantation white entitlement to control the location of its property.
This is the 🌟 Presumption of Whereabouts Authority 🌟 as I teach in #12swa Twelve Steps for White America.
PWA illustrates a commodification of Blackness as a means to sustain the profit of rigged advantage. (Think carceral state from fugitive slave patrols to for-profit prisons, Karens, and minority rule including electoral college, senate, SCOTUS).
To the colonized and conditioned white mind, when this happens, it triggers a threat to the existence of whiteness itself, since whiteness was and remains a colonial American construction (an inclusion-collusion-delusion) to sustain rigged advantage, which can only persist through white supremacy and anti-Blackness.
🙏🏼 Mayor Scott's teaching here can lead to truth reconciliation and renewal.
White America (including white Americans) needs to work a program of recovery for a USA where race no longer predicts outcomes. #democracy#highereducation#diversity#DEIThree-Fifths MagazineMarjorie A. Innocent, PhDDerrick JohnsonUnited States Conference of MayorsNAACP

Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott hit back at the racist right wing attacks against him following the Key Bridge collapse for “having the nerve to be Black and also a mayor.”
“What they mean by DEI, in my opinion, is duly elected incumbent.” 🔥🔥🔥
Mayor Scott did not mince any words and I’m here for it ✊🏾
Attention to my pharma folks! This is a great book to buy.
Not so gentle reminder that 2042, US will be majority Black and Hispanic. Representation for Black doctors is a ~4 or 5% and it was MUCH higher before the AMA helped force the closure of many Black medical schools. This means many Black patients very rarely see a Black doctor and that is important because we have better health outcomes when we are treated by a Black doctor.
White physicians will still be the majority in 2042, so a lot of us have some prep work to do. Here's a book that can help on that journey.
For my marketers, start thinking about cultural competency KOLs. Certain conditions, like breast cancer, impact Black women younger, but the mammogram screening age is an aggregate, like a patient targeting segment. This means the behaviors that we are tracking to and mapping are those of White women, not all women. It leads to greater disease progression, which is obviously awful, but Black women are less likely to be offered a 2nd line treatment by doctors, EVEN though they are more likely to begin and adhere (we need a new word) to treatment.
Read a few books, change a lot of behaviors and more Black women live. How is that not a win?

Celebrating Juneteenth means celebrating Black leadership and Black self-determination.
Black Union troops led the efforts to read and implement the Emancipation Proclamation to many parts of Texas where there were still slaves.
Clara Peoples, an African American woman from Oklahoma, brought the history and tradition to Oregon when she learned that her Black coworkers at the Kaiser shipyards had never heard of the holiday.
In 2021, Juneteenth became a federal and state holiday following the clamor and outrage of months long George Floyd protests, many of which were Black-led.
Our Black and African communities have a rich history of making their dignity and independence real and known. Use this year’s Juneteenth to learn the history of America’s second Independence Day. Use it to support the protestors and leaders who remain behind bars to this day because of their participation in the George Floyd uprisings. Support and extend solidarity to Black-led organizations because Juneteenth is everyday.
