Repost this post to let more people know how they can help ❄ ❄ ❄ Severe Weather Emergency Protocol, or SWEP, is activated by the City Council during periods of extreme weather. Due to the cold weather right now SWEP has been activated from Friday 12 until Tuesday 16 January. SWEP operates in addition to Winter Provision (which has been open from 1 Nov) and Jimmy's (open year round). During SWEP the Street Outreach Team and City Council are working to get people who are rough sleeping into emergency accommodation to minimise the risk of death from exposure. *What can you do to help?* If you see or meet a person who is rough sleeping you can inform the Street Outreach Team of their location using streetlink.org.uk The best way to give the team an accurate location is to use the what3words app. The more specific you can be the more likely it is the team will be able to find the person and offer them help and accommodation. #HomelessnessAwareness #cambridge #CambridgeCommunity #cambridgecyrenians #cambridgeuk #homelessoutreach #helpthehomeless #StreetLink #streetoutreach

Engaging with tenants is expensive. Today, I spoke with a housing association who is sending their housing officers to knock on 1,000 doors. It's an expensive exercise but it is worth it. Engaging with tenants reduces costs, enables compliance and builds a positive relationship. That same housing association will be promoting the Housing Perks app to their tenants when they do. They recognise that having a mobile app in the hands of tenants enables engagement without the cost. The Housing Perks app isn't a traditional housing association app that's used by a tiny minority of tenants. You can expect 10%-60% adoption depending on how much you promote it and tenants open the app on average three times per week. That's powerful. Want to know more? Get in touch [email protected]
