Hi, I'm Jocko Willink and I am now a member of the ownership group of San Diego FC. I started hearing rumors about. A proper football team coming here, I didn't really imagine that I would have some kind of an involvement with it. When you have roots that go as far back as being a A5 year old kid in Giant Stadium, watching Pele play for the Cosmos and now having the opportunity to be involved in a sport that I know people are so passionate about, it's a great game and the opportunity to be a part of it here in my home city. I couldn't have been more excited about what really made it feel right was they, as an ownership group, wanted to bring someone into the ownership group. That was connected to the military and clearly I I have deep roots in the military here, both through special operations here, through the big Navy here, and through the Marine Corps. I realized that this was just going to be a perfect match and we started going down the path to make this thing happen. When you're in San Diego, you're going to meet all kinds of different people from all different walks of life and you have people that grew up here, you have people that are from all over the country. There's just such an awesome cross section. Of different types of people here in San Diego and the idea of woven into one for the team. It doesn't just represent the team, it represents people from San Diego that truly are from all different walks of life and they're all woven into one it. It couldn't be more fitting and I couldn't be prouder to be a part of it. And so here we are in this city. There's no doubt that it's a military town and to be able to bring the military into the fold and make them part of the club. Where they recognize that the club itself is so appreciative of what the military does every day. I'm super blessed to have this opportunity. Couldn't be happier to be a part of this. And I look forward to seeing all you San Diegans in February 2025 for that opening game. It's going to be wild. Let's go.
