Russia deserves respect when it comes to India's Interests. I have been following Russia Today ( Russian Broadcast) and have seen numerous examples of Russia reminding the world about India's contributions and potential. Unlike the USA and the UK, Russia has consistently stood by India as a genuine friend. USA and UK used to stereotype us as snake charmers, and there are many instances when Russia saved us from the UK and USA's brutal and venomous diplomacy, few of them are: - Indo-Pak 1971 war - In the 1960s, under the Food for Peace programme, USA gave our population low-grade wheat (fit for animals), and Russia came forward and helped us with quality grain.   - Kashmir issue - India has been saved in the United Nations many times by using its veto power. - Russia's pivotal role in bolstering Indian defence has been instrumental in ensuring our nation's security. - India is one of the few countries that enjoyed Russian discounted oil and saved billions of dollars. - The best epic reply from S Jaishankar on India-Russia Friendship can be heard from this link: https://lnkd.in/gz_b9dy4  #learnfromhistory #India #Russia #Freindship #USA #UK

China, on the other hand, views Pakistan as a permanent and indispensable ally in its broader geopolitical competition with India. #USA

Arab League and the Arabs made a lot of sacrifices in the past for the cause of Palestine. The failure is not because of a lack of commitment on the part of Arabs or Islamic countries but a repeated miscalculation that the opponent is Israel alone. The entire West, that is, North America (US and Canada), Europe (with two veto powers, the UK and France), and Australia and New Zealand provide unconditional support to Israel. To challenge the West by the Arabs, or the entire Islamic world together, is impossible, at least in the near and mid-term future. The path the Arab world, especially the GCC, has recently adopted is pragmatic and will prepare them in the long run. Strategically, there is a need to turn to China and Russia, which have much fairer policies toward the Israel-Palestine conflict.

Peace: Illusion or Reality? More often than not we tend to take our privileges for granted. Presently, the global geopolitical state of affairs is dismal so much so that even the most fundamental human rights for thinking breathing individuals comes across as much sought after privileges. Yes I am talking about the Right to Live and Let Live. Ravaged by two ongoing wars which do not seem to be inching towards an end anytime soon, the world stands more polarized now than ever before. Myanmar, Sudan & Syria are under civil wars with thousands of refugees forced to flee with nowhere to go. African nations like Mali, Burkina Faso, Gabon & Guinea are being ruled by the military junta. US military has a chequered history with the Vietnam War, Iraq War and the one in Afghanistan dragging on for years. The UK military has a blood ridden past of promoting colonization. One is no stranger to China's expansionist aggression. Pakistan serves as a safe haven for hardcore fundamentalists & terrorist groups. Horrors of 26/11 still haunt the nation's soul. At this moment let's rewind a bit shall we? The year was 1999. Pakistani Army infiltrated & occupied strategic positions in the Kargil Drass sector declaring a covert war against India. That was when Operation Vijay was launched by the Indian Army. After days of fighting at multiple fronts, 26th July resulted in the culmination of India's victory on the battlefield winning the hearts of countless Indians. Victory was on India's side but it came at a heavy loss of priceless lives. If India would have wanted, it could’ve prolonged the war and extended its control over most Pakistani territories but cooler heads prevailed & the political and military leadership made a rational decision NOT to. Cause War can never be a solution to any long standing conflict and India has proudly lived by this civilizational ethos whenever provoked by hostile forces. Such a unique display of leadership and self-discipline upheld by the Indian Armed Forces where their gruelling training instils in them the human values of knowing when NOT to flex their power muscles for the greater good of the nation is hardly shown by other militaries across the globe. And this can definitely be considered a proud privilege in the conflicting times that we are in. As we celebrate Kargil Vijay Diwas, we need to remind ourselves that we are not celebrating or endorsing war/hostility as some people misinterpret it but dedicating a day to those bravehearts whose loved ones were waiting for them back home but who laid down their lives for the service of this nation. For those who deserve our greatest reverence. Let's not entangle ourselves in the propaganda machinery of those who drag everything into petty politics to gain brownie points but ensure that the sacrifice of those who died for a cause doesn't go in vain. That Peace ceases to be an illusion & becomes a reality. Until then we can only place our bets on Hope.
