Elated to announce our recent publication! This research focuses on the comparison of trans-femoral vs. trans-carotid TAVR access for the patient of TAVR. TF-TAVR is considered as gold standard technique, but alternative access sites have been used, especially when TF-TAVR approach is contraindicated in fewer instances. TC-TAVR access, which is concurrently being considered as the primary substitute of TF-TAVR. The current evidence comparing the safety and efficacy of TC-TAVR with TF-TAVR is limited. We performed an updated systematic review and meta-analysis to provide a robust comparison between the two techniques.
We are delighted to share the latest insights comparing trans-femoral versus trans-carotid access for TAVR in the comprehensive systematic review and meta-analysis by RCOP mentees Naser Yamani, Syed Hasham Ali, Mahnoor Sadiq Afeerah Bashir, Kapil D Bhojwani, Vivek L. Saba Fatmah, Shazra Khalid, Hammad R Shamsi, Batool Zehra, and Zulfiqar Q Baloch. Under the guidance and mentorship of Dr. Kaneez Fatima, they successfully published this paper in the prestigious Future Science OA. Well done guys!
