Housekeeper Needed for Upper East Side, NY Family An executive couple with a beautiful UES Apartment would like to hire a career Housekeeper to perform the daily hands-on cleaning and oversight of their home. Responsibilities: Assume full responsibility for the general and specialty cleaning of the home, including care of specialty materials and surfaces, performing a daily walkthrough and developing a cleaning schedule. Expertly care for the principals’ clothing and wardrobes (including laundry, ironing, pressing, etc.). The Housekeeper will also assist with provisioning, running errands, and light food prep. Qualifications: · Prior experience working as a housekeeper in a fine home for a private employer. · Excellent, verifiable references. · Exceptional hands-on cleaning and laundry skills are required. · Self-starter who enjoys their work and embraces the opportunity to work independently. · Positive and pleasant personality · Seeking a long-term opportunity. Schedule: Generally, Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Compensation: Compensation of $40-45/hour offered, depending on experience. The principals will guarantee a 40-hour work week, year-round. Benefits include a health insurance stipend, an annual discretionary bonus, PTO, paid holidays (NYSE), and sick days. I spent more than 20 years in corporate human resources and reviewed more job descriptions than I could count. Those job descriptions were especially useful in determining the best candidate when recruiting. But there’s one position for which I’m thankful I never had to recruit: the position of a mother. I twitch at the thought of recruiting one person to fill all the duties of a mom. The job description would have to include all the following and more: accountant banker chauffeur cheerleader chef coach counselor decorator entertainer financial planner gardener hairstylist handyman hostess housekeeper janitor juggler manager nanny nurse nutritionist paramedic party planner photographer referee secretary spiritual advisor storyteller teacher waitress zookeeper The salary is paltry—actually, less than paltry. It’s zero. There’s no advancement. Vacation days are nil, unless you count the second Sunday in May, but even then, you’re on duty. So why would anyone take on such a position? By any logical standard, it’s an insane proposition. But logic has nothing to do with it. One heartfelt kiss, one enthusiastic hug, one spontaneous “I love you, Mommy!” is all you need to be assured it’s worth it. HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!

Today I worked with a client who had trouble seeing tasks through to the end. When I started to peel away at the layers, I realized that one of the main issues was having no clear next step. So, for example, if you need to hire a housekeeper, what would be the next step in hiring one? Maybe it's defining what areas need cleaning, or having a discussion with your spouse, or finding 3 potential housekeepers to call. Without a clear next step, the task seems daunting and you won't progress. This is hospitality post strictly I see posts looking for entry level staff stewards , utility boys, housekeeping staff, drivers ,gardners, electricians, etc and I wonder how many would have got these positions filled from LinkedIn per say -kitchen utility boys/girls LinkedIn allows 26 langauges, mostly international, Hindi being one of them , and amazingly I personally haven't came across 1 post written in Hindi even for a driver or gardners position and as a basic demographic 80% of staff in hospitality are from grade 4 catatgory who can understand English, speak a little English, read English rarely and write nothing LinkedIn, unless allows vernacular languages as a medium of communication -and believe me it's very easy , can't get you entry level staff but for LinkedIn they are not their TA , as below 20k INR salary can't afford or would not be interested in premium subscription for 3500 INR I am trying to highlight 2 things you can't get entry level staff on LinkedIn and LinkedIn you need to do more if you want me to buy primium subscription it wouldn't be long LinkedIn becomes next blackberry CHANGE #hr, #LinkedIn,#entrylevelstaff,#hiring

During busy hours 100% back to back due out at the same time, rooms are arrival , our daily Saga.. Good morning Housekeeping! 1. when we clean the occupied room we don't leave the room pending, we have to clean and finish the room immediately and go to another task. Occupied room guests may come anytime. 🔓🔑✋ 2. When cleaning the room maintenance should be reported and sent to our group. For engineering to complete before the room release by supervisor. ⚒️✂️🔧 3. You have to know our long staying guests, their preferences timing of cleaning. Then give the room service based on guest preferences. 🎁🎁 4. Attend the guest request within 5 to 10 minutes, and respond to the message at the same time. ⌛⏱️⌚ 5. Talk to the guest and work, as Smart hardworker, not only being hardworker, we have to be smart 🤓🤓🤓 6. Communicate effectively any difficulty in your supervisor, and if there's no action taken, contact your manager. 🙏🙏🙏 7.
