We call it the giraffe and I hate its guts! -It is bulky. -It is heavy. -It slows you down. -The gear mechanism is a point of failure. -It is expensive to ship. But I also love it for its versatility. There are projects that I have to use it once. That one-time use can save me tonnes of headaches in post-processing. Here are some of the best uses for both scanning and Matterport tours: -Vertical tie-ins: attics with small acces, tunnels with elevation drops, roof tops. -Minimize occlusion: multi-tier captures in congested spaces, elevated captures in tall spaces and for facades. -Above ceiling captures.
