Happy friday to everybody! (German version: Hoch die Hände Wochenende!) Today I got a new video from our insitu monitoring experts in Metal Binder Jetting Felix Gerken, Malte Sandmann, Andrea Cogotti and Sebastian Hein at Fraunhofer IFAM . Have a look at it! The entire length of the powder wave in front of the roller is measured using a self-developed camera system. An image processing program automatically evaluates the powder wave over the entire process duration. In future, we will use this to correlate the powder wave height with part properties like green part density. In this case here, I would say that this powder wave certainly does not lead to good properties... :D The powder is only pushed over the powder bed surface and no rolling movement is visible. Additionally we see that the powder wave gets higher and higher as the layer progresses. For a uniform powder bed density, however, it should of course remain constant. ✨At room 404 at CERN, when file requests used to come in, 2 to 3 people would manually search for the files and send the information back, with faulty information requests sending a "Room 404: File not Found" message.
