With no medical device experience, I worked for one of the largest medical device companies in the world, Stryker. With no medical device experience, I went on to be promoted to managing Stryker's biologics product line for the Sports Medicine team. 🚀In 3 short months I ditched the temp role and accepted an offer managing Stryker's biologics product line. 🚀 I went on to train in labs to understand how tissue is harvested from cadavers. 🚀 I attended surgeries in San Francisco, CA. to build relationships with doctors, ask questions and to see the tissue be implanted into multiple patients. 🚀 I gained enough knowledge to train my entire C/S team. I created Powerpoint presentations to share knowledge I had gained. This training gave my team confidence to help hospitals when ordering, increasing revenue for our dept. 🚀I interviewed, trained and hired a new team member to work side by side with me. I trained her for months teaching her everything I learned. She then went on to be promoted shortly after. 🚀Accepted the Planners Choice Award and was nominated for Employee of the Year during my 1st year. 🚀Drove 15 million in revenue in biologics for Sports Medicine in my first year. My reps did not just meet their quotas, together we exceeded them. When I accepted a position at Stryker, I knew nothing about medical device. Sales in biologics was suffering. The department lacked organization and the reps were frustrated trying to sell product with multiple back orders, however, Stryker saw something in me. Drive. Drive and a strong desire to learn an amazing product line and help people. Had Stryker not given me a chance none of this would have been possible. I currently work in tech. With no experience, I have managed the entire West Coast region solo for the last 3 years. Working with school districts, I have managed a 90%+ retention rate, while maintaining the highest referral sales on my team in my 1st start-up environment. 💥 HM's & Recruiters: More often times than not, amazing experience lives within a resume passed a candidate's current role. Sometimes the experience does not exist, but drive does. Stop disqualifying me and other qualified candidates for not having "enough" experience. Pick up the phone and have a conversation. Take time to notice your employees and the candidates with drive. Yes, even the people with no prior experience. 💡Hire them. 💡Promote them. 💡Give people chances.
