Yesterday was International Women in Engineering Day, and here at LVI Associates we support trailblazing women in the industry, from Asia to America and everywhere in between. As Director of LVI Associates APAC, Kayleigh Regan is the perfect person to share her insights on how we are making a positive difference in the energy and infrastructure industry: "Across the APAC region, we are spending more time speaking with companies on how they can best attract more diversity into their company, and more specifically how they can hire and retain more female engineers. Some of the positive changes we have helped companies make is the flexibility for working mums on picking up/dropping off their children, how they write their job adverts (being gender neutral instead of saying ‘his experience’) and encouraging more family initiatives such as family fun days." Hear what Senior Vice President Sarah Lazar also has to say on celebrating women in engineering and view our open engineering roles: https://lnkd.in/eQVsc8X6 #WomenInEngineering #INWED2024

Happy International Women in Engineering Day to everyone! I feel very proud to work in a business where I can directly influence diversity in engineering firms workforce, and in my 8-9 years of recruitment life I can safely say that I have seen a positive change in gender diversity across the Renewable Energy and Infrastructure industries. However, with only 13-14% of the global engineering force being female, we are not quite there yet! With more females taking leadership positions, it will encourage more female engineers to join and stay in the industry, and even more females to choose to study STEM subjects in the first place, so let's keep promoting this together! With diversity comes new perspectives which can yield better results 💪 #womeninengineering #genderdiversity

To mark International Women in Engineering Day, see our Director General, Damien Owens, article on the importance of encouraging more women to participate in engineering, featured in Friday’s Irish Independent According to a recent study, carried out by Ipsos B&A on behalf of Engineers Ireland 39% of women say they do not view engineering as a suitable career, compared to just 29% of men. Similarly, over a third of women respondents said they would not consider the profession if starting a career or pursuing a career change. We can and must forge a path that encourages more women into our industry. On this special day, let's recognise the importance of diversity in engineering and commit to supporting and empowering women in this vital field. #INWED #WomenInEngineering #DiversityInSTEM #EngineeringExcellence #WomenInTech #STEM

In conjunction with Women in Engineering day this week we are celebrating the dedication and passion of the incredible ladies who work within the Atlas Copco Group of companies. As part of our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion we have asked some of our employees to share their thoughts around why this is important. Today we meet General Manager - Mark Taylor 😀 What does Gender Diversity mean to you? As individuals we all have our own perspective and by this I mean our own truth, by bringing diversity into a team enables challenge as we bring a different perspective to the discussion creating ideas that lead to positive change. Why is it important to have Women in Engineering? We all know that engineering has been male dominated for a long time and still is unfortunately, and with this there is a tendency to look at problems the same way. The more diversity we can get into the segment, the better we will be at solving problems and creating solutions that bring value and sustainability to all Companies. How does the Company support Women in Engineering? There are many programs run by the Group that encourage and support Women in engineering, such as mentorship and networking programs – By encouraging the sharing of experiences and being supported by the organisation is removing the stigma that engineering is for men – my hope is that at some point soon by creating awareness and giving knowledge we will no longer need to highlight this as an issue, and that it is normal to have gender diverse teams working in all of our engineering teams from research to service. #InternationalWomenInEngineeringDay #INWED24

Reflecting on International Women’s Day, I'm reminded of a powerful quote when recruiting women into male-dominated fields like engineering: "If you build it, they will come" - Field of Dreams. Throughout my journey in education and career, the challenge has often been not just recruiting but retaining women in these industries. From my perspective, the root of this issue lies in the lack of representation and the prevailing notion that women don’t belong in such environments. Many women feel they lack the experience or are simply not capable of thriving in these spaces. As advocates, it's crucial to actively counter this narrative by championing and empowering other capable women. In my own role, I've had the privilege of doing just that—hiring, seeking their perspectives, and advocating for their advancement. It's been immensely rewarding to witness our department evolve from just me as the first women in engineering at Highline Warren to now having six. This journey reaffirms the power of proactive support and mentorship in fostering diversity and inclusion. Remember, "If you build it, they will come." Let's continue building spaces where all talented individuals, regardless of gender, can thrive and contribute their unique perspectives. Happy International Women’s Day! 🚀 #IWD #WomeninSTEM #DiversityandInclusion #womeninautocare #womeninengineering

On June 23, we are celebrating the 11th International Women in Engineering Day! Every year, #INWED aims to spotlight the remarkable achievements of those who identify as women in the engineering field worldwide. A study carried out by McKinsey & Company found that 32% of women in engineering and technical roles were often the ‘only woman in the room’ and were underrepresented in leadership roles. This underrepresentation highlights the urgent need for diversity in STEM fields, a cause we are committed to supporting. At Cementation, we believe that a diverse workforce is the key to a highly synergistic, innovative, and collaborative workplace. We are not just interested, but committed to recruiting, retaining, and developing women engineers and professionals across the organization. Our everyday lives are #EnhancedByEngineering, and today, we celebrate and appreciate women in engineering and all they do to drive change and innovation in our lives. #WomenInEngineering #DiversityInSTEM #STEM #Engineering #INWED2024 #WomenEngineers #WomenInSTEM #WomenInTech

Happy International Women in Engineering Day! Today we celebrate all the women engineers that are breaking gender stereotypes, using their engineering skills to build a better world. Women who refuse to be limited by social norms but believing in themselves. The trailblazers, the intelligent and powerful who also serve as role models to future generations. May this be a celebration that engineering is not a gender industry but anyone including women can thrive in the exciting world of engineering. 🧮 Arteche we recognize the importance of increasing the participation of women in technical and business roles, so we actively strive to attract and promote female talent in these areas by fostering a STEAM culture that inspires and supports all people equally. ➡️ In line with this commitment, and for the International Day of Women and Girls in Engineering (which was celebrated yesterday, June 23), it seems like a good time to remind ourselves that: 👥 26% of our team is made up of women, with 28.1% in leadership roles and 11% on the Board of Directors. 💡 In R&D, women represent 18.8%. But, above all, 📈 our commitment to increase these numbers. By 2030, we have set ourselves the target that 40% of management positions will be held by women and that all our positions are designed for both men and women. #MovingTogether towards a future where engineering advances without any barriers.

In today's rapidly evolving tech industry, the demand for skilled engineers continues to soar. However, gender parity remains a pressing issue, particularly within the field of engineering. It's crucial for us as a community to actively work towards empowering and supporting female engineers, creating a more inclusive and diverse workforce. By providing equal opportunities and resources, we can tap into the immense talent and fresh perspectives that women bring to the table. 👩💻✨ As a recruiter, I've had the privilege of discussing the incredible contributions that female engineers make to engineering firms. I firmly believe that by championing and nurturing their talents, we not only bridge the gender gap but also cultivate a more innovative and successful engineering landscape. 💪🏽🔬 Let's continue to advocate for and support female engineers, paving the way for a more equitable and inclusive future. Together, we can elevate the voices and aspirations of women in engineering and create a more balanced and thriving workplace. #WomenInSTEM #GenderParity #DiversityInTech 🌐
