Hello LinkedIn! Week #39 post is here! (a lot later than usual) For those who haven't seen my last few posts. My New Year's resolution is to lean more into the solo development lifestyle and post weekly updates on my gaming projects here with pictures and/or videos. Why am I doing this? A few reasons (in no particular order). The first reason is to show my passion for game development. The second reason is I hope to inspire people with an interest in game development to start and a few other reasons include showing what game dev is like for us solo / indie developers, and stepping out of my comfort zone by posting on LinkedIn more. It was playtest and last-minute changes week! I would consider the playtest a massive success in terms of BOTH gameplay and feedback! Not only did I find bugs I thought I fixed, but some friends also found some edge cases that I did not think about. Of course, with each playtest I got feedback at the end and I am already finding solutions to the bugs and trying to figure out how to go about implementing the suggestions! The screenshot includes some of the major bugs we found. The right side is my friend (he gave me permission to post his name) "getting lasered" over and over and over again, which is not supposed to happen and the other bug in the screenshot is the infinite reloading 'animation'. You're not supposed to be able to get lasered in the death box, and the 'animation' is supposed to go away after you reload. Other bugs we found were DC issues, floating guns when the player DCd, and health and bullets going negative.  Still got some work to do. Once again, I appreciate everyone that came to it and gave me feedback as well as those that support me here on LinkedIn. I will be holding more playtests in the future, so stay tuned! Assignment Highlights: This project, completed last month, was a Route Academy assignment, challenging me to integrate API data into a user-friendly game review platform.
