In exactly one month from now, my book Nelson Goodman and Modern Architecture: A Belated Encounter, will be published by Routledge. In it, I investigate overlooked aspects of both 20th-century architecture and philosophy, and I am particularly honored that it comes with endorsements from heavyweights in architecture, art history, and philosophy, who have kindly read my work. Talking about cities, starting with an essential building block --the neighborhood! It seems that increasingly we are devoting more and more attention to studying cities. I am particularly heartened that old ways of talking about planning, typologies, and separate disciplines or "verticals" are giving way to broader, Intergrated views of the city, and delving deeper into their unique characteristics. Thus, this book from the perspective of neighborhoods. I am happy to be among the 35 authors of the publication and to have reflected, with colleagues from near and far, about the role, opportunities and characteristics of neighborhoods to contribute to the livability of cities.

I have received my advance copy of Multiplicity: On Constraint and Agency in Contemporary Architecture. Part of a trio of Five College symposia and edited volumes, in collaboration with Laure Katsaros and Michael T. Davis, with contributions from brilliant scholars, Multiplicity is the second in a series on contemporary architecture, following Exactitude: On Precision and Play in Contemporary Architecture. Inspired by Calvino's Six Memos, the book is a collective and curated reflection on the state of the discipline including contributions by architects, historians, theorists and editors. the last and final part of this series Quickness will follow in 2024. As we navigate the challenges of land scarcity and burgeoning population densities, the concept of vertical place-making and vertical community-making becomes not just an option but a necessity.
