🌍 Transformative Journeys: Witnessing Innovation and Ambition Rehan School, Karachi Last week, I had the incredible opportunity to visit the Rehan School on the outskirts of Karachi, Pakistan. This was not just a journey across miles, but a deep dive into a hub of youthful ambition and innovation under challenging circumstances. 🚀 Empowerment through Education and Technology The students at Rehan School, coming from low-resource areas, are not just learning about technology; they're mastering it to build futures they've dared to dream of. What struck me the most was their focus on sustainability and the use of AI tools not just for academic projects but to forge real-world businesses aimed at global markets. 💡 Big Dreams in the Making One of their goals? To build businesses worth over a million dollars before graduation. It sounds ambitious, but their unrelenting conviction makes you a believer. Despite limited resources, these students are leveraging their skills to create services and products for a global audience, turning challenges into stepping stones. 🌐 A Call to Support and Collaborate Their journey is a powerful reminder of how education can transform lives, especially when combined with the right tools and opportunities. Let's think about how we can support such initiatives, whether through mentorship, investment, or technology partnerships. If the students reach out to interview you, say "YES!" As I left the school, I carried with me not just fond memories but a renewed belief in the power of determination and vision. These students are not waiting for change; they are driving it. 🔗 #EducationForAll #Sustainability #AI #YouthEmpowerment #Innovation#Youarethesolution Rehan Allahwala Manahil Remotejobwali Saad Allahwala

LinkedIn Top Higher Education Voice, publisher of International Employability Insight (IEI) & founder of Asia Careers Group SDN BHD
A wonderfully tongue in cheek response by Wonkhe to Jo Johnson’s “words of wisdom” in the Financial Times. Where he does have a point is that the “government must #inflation-proof fees, ideally by linking increased funding to outcomes & aligning interests of #universities, taxpayers & #students.” This should include #Internationalstudent outcomes, data on Non-EU #graduateoutcomes which is immediately available to the sector form Asia Careers Group SDN BHD should be utilised to ensure the electorate understand the vast majority of #internationalstudents go on to successful #careers back home! This is of huge benefit to the UK driving direct inward investment & building #softpower. Not only that it is of huge benefit to the world reducing #braindrain & going some way to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The data exists for £350,000 to make this an immediate reality, will the sector “seize the nettle” before it’s too late? MAC reports in the Autumn, so if the sector are able to commission Non EU #graduateoutcomes data in the Spring, they have a chance of submitting their findings in the summer, before MAC reports to government. This being the case post-study work could receive a stay of execution? “According to Johnson’s short FT piece, political support for international students peaked five years ago. You’ll recall that 2019 was one endless stream of celebration – with the government’s #internationaleducation Strategy representing the first time a recruitment target had been set, and an expansion (live from 2020-21, following The Conservative Party’s decision to scrap the previous route in 2012) to the availability of straightforward post-study work visas for international students. But that’s all changing. International students, it seems, are only now becoming caught up in a “toxic debate” about immigration – charged with lowering academic standards and taking places that should, by divine right, be reserved for the stout and noble sons and daughters of Albion. Lord Johnson of Marylebone, a peer who takes the government whip, is concerned that this government will over-correct – restricting numbers and diminishing attractiveness (especially among #internationalstudents foolish enough to have families) at precisely the moment demand is apparently plummeting (which, in aggregate it is not)… But never fear – he has a five point plan. And we all know how well these have traditionally worked for The Conservative Party).” Asia Careers Group SDN BHD - Investing in International Futures AGCAS British Council BUILA Department for Business and Trade Department for Education Jisc Office for Students UCAS UKCISA Universities Scotland Universities UK Universities UK International
