There's a reason why so few agencies go on to scale quickly and sell. If that's your goal, then you have to design your business accordingly. And sometimes make decisions that don't make sense in the moment. My agency was growing nicely after 2 years, with half of the revenue coming from Amazon services and the other half from retail sales. But it wasn't a scalable business. The retail sales relied too heavily on people making decisions outside of our control. If it wasn't scalable, then it wasn't saleable. So we cut the retail sales service overnight. Lost half of our business. We took two years to get from £0 to £350k per year revenue. After we cut the retail sales service we grew from £350k to £5m in the next two years. Whether it's hiring plans, geographical expansion, marketing strategy. You have to be intentional with the decisions to drive growth. And it's not always a pleasant journey.
