NCD looks like a heavy, dense and confusing term. The goal of reducing premature mortality sound ageist. Promote and adopt strong public policies for HEALTH, -including- public policies to address the risk factors for NCDs. Strength the prevention side but invest in and strengthen primary health care to improve access and quality of care. Call a spade a spade: cardiovascular diseases, stroke, cancer, diabetes, kidney diseases, chronic respiratory diseases. Produce integrated, high-quality, COI-free standards of care that work for everyone, leaving no one behind. Define a global, innovative, and bold public health agenda to lower the price of medicines and technologies. Listening to the voices of those living with these diseases and in alliance with civil society and the scientific community, mobilize resources and technical cooperation, and encourage governments to do what they must do now.

Thanks Bente Mikkelsen for sharing!
One for the #ObesityNCD community!
It's important to repeat the message that
📣obesity has already been classified as a disease since 1948 by World Health Organization
📣 Obesity is malfunctioning adipose tissue and continues in adults for life, regardless of size. It affects up to two future generations if left unmanaged.
📣📣It's key to question HOW health system delivery can proactively integrate obesity as part of the existing NCD infrastructure framework and what gaps need to be bridged.
📣 IF we want to see a decline in the prevalence of the policy-prioritised NCDs, we need to be implementing obesity screening, early diagnosis, treatment and long term management across health systems. ALL of the policy-prioritised NCDs are #MedicalComplications of Obesity.
📣 We need to stop acting in #DownstreamSilos and ignoring the largest population of #UnmetMedicalNeed
📣 This is not a case of "Do the right thing". This is a legal right to health.

CMRP Examination Overview Pre-Conference Session
The Certified Materials & Resource Professional (CMRP), the premier national supply chain credential, provides a personal and professional distinction in an increasingly competitive health care supply chain marketplace. This session provides an overview of the Certified Materials & Resource Professional (CMRP) examination, helpful study tips and discussion of requirements to earn the designation.
In this interactive session, presenters will discuss the CMRP exam content areas, the types of questions asked and exam preparation insights. Participants will review concepts and example questions from each of the five exam content areas covering both recall and application questions.
Conversation will continue through the study of the 110 example questions when learners will have the opportunity to ask detailed questions throughout the course. Instructors will continually refer to the CMRP Examination Review Guide, which can be purchased here.
Important Pre-Session Work:
Registrants will complete 110 example exam questions sent to them prior to the course. Not completing the pre-work assignment will likely cause disappointment with the session.
NOTE: This is not study session but an in-depth review of the examination itself.
Earlier this Spring, Eric Schneider, #NCQA's Executive VP of Quality Measurement and Research, participated in a #PTAC meeting panel where he presented key objectives for performance measurement in a population-based total cost of care (PB-TCOC) model.
In discussing the minimal entry criteria for organizations adopting PB-TCOC models, NCQA emphasized two fundamental requirements:
• Accountability for empaneled members.
• The capability to integrate care seamlessly across health care sectors and community-based organizations.
These elements play a crucial role in effectively managing populations and addressing their health-related social needs. From clinical data to patient experience, we believe measures that incentivize care coordination and team care are vital to the success of the TCOC framework. My big takeaways from a thought-provoking ILR roundtable in Washington, D.C.:
💡Assessment is just one vehicle in program evaluation. And it matters.
💡Assessments need to be valid & reliable, not just by our own analysis. Consider external review or comparative analysis with externally evaluated instruments.
💡Writing sound assessments is HARD. Yay for assessment specialists and psyshometricians and companies like ACTFL with externally validated assessments!
As always, a privilege to mingle with these exceptional professionals: Kim Sallee; Thomas Wagener; Farid Saydee, PhD;
Chris Abdmishani Armijo, M.Ed., MHA, MBA, MPH, FACHE, LSSBB (not pictured Erwin Tschirner)
