🎉 Happy Cinco de Mayo! 🇲🇽 Today, we celebrate the Mexican army’s victory over the Second French Empire at the Battle of Puebla in 1862. Led by General Ignacio Zaragoza, the outnumbered and poorly supplied Mexican forces defended their town against a well-armed French fleet. Although not a major strategic win in the overall war, this battle represented a great symbolic victory for Mexico and bolstered the resistance movement. 🗡️💪 Remember, Cinco de Mayo is not Mexican Independence Day (which was in 1810).
