🎉 Happy Cinco de Mayo! 🇲🇽 Today, we celebrate the Mexican army’s victory over the Second French Empire at the Battle of Puebla in 1862. Led by General Ignacio Zaragoza, the outnumbered and poorly supplied Mexican forces defended their town against a well-armed French fleet. Although not a major strategic win in the overall war, this battle represented a great symbolic victory for Mexico and bolstered the resistance movement. 🗡️💪 Remember, Cinco de Mayo is not Mexican Independence Day (which was in 1810). Instead, it commemorates this single battle and has evolved into a celebration of Mexican culture and heritage, especially in areas with large Mexican-American populations. 🌮🎶 So, whether you’re enjoying some delicious tacos, dancing to mariachi music, or simply appreciating the rich history, ¡Feliz Cinco de Mayo! 🎊🎈 Jeffrey Carlson Group Coldwell Banker Realty ☎️ 561-870-4789📱 ✉️ [email protected] 🌎 https://lnkd.in/eDTCKnEh PGA Commons Art & Dining District #palmbeachluxuryhomes #westpalmbeachrealestate #atlantisflorida #lakeworthbeach #singerisland #singerislandrealestate #lakeworthluxuryhomes #westpalmbeachrealestate #westpalmbeachluxuryhomes #palmbeachgardensluxuryhomes #palmbeachrealestate #westpalmbeach #palmbeachisland #WellingtonFlorida #palmbeachgardens #westlakeflorida #westlakefloridahomes

Tartan Today. Tartans continue to be designed and registered with the relevant Scottish authorities, both by large corporations and by private individuals.
Clan tartans are unique patterns associated with Scottish clans and septs. Each clan has its own distinctive tartan pattern, usually consisting of various combinations of colors or overlaid muted checks and stripes. The earliest evidence of tartan patterns dates back to the 16th century. However, most surviving patterns from this period are black and white and it is clear that some tartans were simply territorial rather than specifically belonging to a particular clan. The modern notion of a distinct tartan for each clan emerged in the 18th century and was strongly encouraged by members of the tartan-wearing Kilmarnock Johnnies and later the Highland Societies. The Victorians further populized this notion with Queen Victoria's interest in Scottish heritage. While the history of clan tartans dates back centuries, the exact origins of many patterns today are not precisely known. The Mention of Exotic Goods in 1 Kings 10:22 and 2 Chronicles 9:21 In the Old Testament of the Bible, specifically in 1 Kings 10:22 and 2 Chronicles 9:21, there is a reference to the king's ships that traveled to Tarshish every three years. These voyages were made in the company of Huram's servants and were known for bringing back a variety of exotic goods. Among the treasures brought back on these journeys were gold and silver, symbolizing wealth and luxury. Additionally, the mention of ivory highlights the opulence and extravagance of the king's acquisitions. The inclusion of apes and peacocks in the cargo list adds a touch of exoticism and showcases the diversity of the goods traded during this time. The mention of these exotic goods in 1 Kings 10:22 and 2 Chronicles 9:21 provides a glimpse into the trading practices and cultural exchanges of the ancient world. It reflects the value placed on luxury items and the desire to acquire rare and unique treasures from distant lands. Overall, these verses serve as a reminder of the historical context and the significance of trade and commerce in ancient times, shedding light on the interconnectedness of different regions and the exchange of goods and ideas across borders.

Tartan Today. Tartans continue to be designed and registered with the relevant Scottish authorities, both by large corporations and by private individuals.
Clan tartans are woven patterns associated with Scottish families and their lineage. Each Scottish clan typically has an official registered pattern unique to their family name. Tartans became popularised as a symbol of Scottish identity in the 18th century after the Jacobite risings made kilts and other traditional Scottish dress politically suspect. Tartan patterns usually consist of criss-crossed perpendicular lines in various colours, most often containing shades of red, black, blue, green, or purple. Families would choose symbolic colours to represent their lineage or region. For example, red signifies courage or martial heritage while green often suggests connection to nature or ancestral lands. More elusive clans who lived in remote glens may have selected camouflaging tartans. In modern times, registration of official clan tartans is overseen by various heritage organizations to preserve traditional patterns.
