They start with explaining who is on the team, the problem they are focusing on, how they uniquely solve this problem, what steps they took to create the minimum viable product and the traction they got so far. The secret to making big ideas happen is radical collaboration At this years Superbowl Doordash pulled off something that has never been done before To demonstrate the fact they can deliver almost anything they came up with the idea of a promotion at the end of the Superbowl where you could "doordash all the ads" and win everything that was featured in an ad that night That's right, they would deliver a lucky winner every product featured; the cars, the tax software, the phone contracts, the drinks .... not quite sure how they were going to cope with Jesus & RFK but am sure they found a way ..? How do you come up with such a bold idea and then execute something that isn't just creative but a logistical nightmare? Kofi Amoo-Gottfried the CMO of Doordash described it as "radical collaboration" between the in-house team and Wieden + Kennedy and described it as leaving your ego at the door, thinking of it as "our thing not my thing" and treating everyone across in-house and the agency as part of the same team. I am a strong believer in the power of partnerships as they enable you to create something so much bigger than you could ever do alone. Working with a different organisation can bring its challenges which is why thinking of it in a radical way makes a lot of sense. What could you achieve if you were radical in your collaboration? McDonald's unveiled ambitious plans at its Investor Day, aiming for 50,000 restaurants by the end of 2027, the fastest growth period in its history. The strategy involves opening 1,000 new locations annually across the U.S. and international markets. To achieve this, McDonald's plans to add 900 U.S. outlets, 1,900 in international markets, and 7,000 in developmental licensed markets. For 2024, McDonald's projects a 4% net new restaurant growth, followed by an annual growth rate of 4% to 5% post-2024. McDonald's Just Invested in Us 💎 I've had a hard time posting in the past few months due to the recent horrors of #october7. It's the first time in 20 years that I wasn't called up for reserves in the reckon army unit I served in, and I've been grappling with internal conflicts of depression versus the need to continue working. After a first-ever Zoom call with my army friends, we realized that we have two new missions. The first is to help the Israeli economy by continuing to work, so the brave soldiers have an economy to come back to. The second is to try and be optimistic to help boost local morale. Truth is, we received this investment exactly 4 months ago, but it didn't feel like the right time to go public with this kind of news. It might still not be the best time as we're still at war with the most evil enemy we could imagine. Having said that, February 7, 2024, needs to be different. This year should be a year of growth, prosperity, resilience, and, although it's hard to say during these times, love. And a big thanks to the one and only Eyal Padan , McDonalds CMO. Who started as a client and, over the past 4 years, grew into over 20 use cases, turned into a friend, and now we share the same cap table.
