Daily Tip: Parents, don't feel guilty for having a nanny and actually enjoying having the help. Everyone says it takes a village however, when you pay for a quality caregiver and household support person to be in your village, the judgement can be brutal. Here's the truth; your child benefits from having another adult in their life who loves them to pieces and gives them consistent, quality care. Your child benefits when you have someone to help you carry the load, lessen your stress, and be in your corner as a parent. Hiring a nanny isn't abandoning your duties as a parent, it's making a smart investment in your child's health and happiness.

The #Denver Basic Income Project is the first major effort in the #US to study the impact of providing guaranteed income to individuals who are unhoused, as a means of accelerating the path toward stability. I founded and seeded this initiative with $500,000 in #Tesla gains. We have already raised an additional $3.3M on top of this to provide unconditional basic income to our unhoused neighbors in Denver, accompanied by a rigorous RCT (Randomized Control Trial) run by DU’s Center for Housing and Homelessness Research. We don’t have to wait for the government to come in and fix things, as Tesla has shown in the automotive industry. We just need to offer better solutions. Direct cash is increasingly seen as one of the most effective ways to fight poverty and economic inequality. We are hoping to take our program to 20 more cities in 2022 and 200 in 2023. We will need the help of the Tesla community and other high-net-worth individuals to make this happen. I have learned many things from Elon, and one of the most inspiring is that huge, unimaginable positive change is possible at a pace that most believe is impossible. Let’s not accept the status quo when it comes to poverty, homelessness, and economic injustice. The Tesla community can be leaders in this space as well, if we so choose. UPDATE: This is the story of the Denver Basic Income Project. Our work is centered around building hope through basic income and empowering individuals experiencing homelessness to not just survive, but thrive. We are inspired and motivated by stories and experiences like the incredible ones featured in this video. A massive thank you to our participants, Michael, Jennifer, and Qween, for sharing their stories. A huge thank you to Dope Mom Life and Andrea Nordgren for their production of this video. I hired someone to take care of my house for me every-other-week. It's been such a relief to get the help. As an autistic person married to an ADHDer, you can imagine our ability to keep our house orderly is... challenging. Today the person who comes in told me that they're pregnant. "I'm going to work until I can't, and then D is going to take over for me. Please don't cancel your service." I was really surprised by their last sentences because actually my thoughts were: - "Do you need to change the products you're using? I know that my senses were overhwelmed when I was pregnant, so I'm happy for you to use whatever you need." - "Oh, does that mean I get to see a baby every other week?!" (Because I remember being a young mom who couldn't afford daycare, and I don't hate the idea of having a baby-on-loan for a few hours.) - "Please let me know if this effects your prices. I want you to have financial stablility, and this service means a great deal to us." - "Join your Buy Nothing Group because they always have baby stuff to give away." Maybe I'll keep an eye out on mine for them too... 🫤 That they were afraid I'd cancel is indicative that there's a societal problem. Apparently, when they disclosed their pregnancy a lot of clients just said, "oh well, I'll cancel now." I find this upsetting because their level of service hasn't changed since becoming pregnant, and it won't change when D takes over because I know that person too. Also, most of the houses they clean are empty. We just happen to be one of their clients who has remote jobs. We have to do better y'all.

Here are our five tips for interviewing a domestic couple for your estate: 1. Clarify Your Household Needs: Before the interview, define your household's specific requirements, including cleaning, cooking, gardening, childcare, and any other tasks you need help with. This will help you find a domestic couple whose skills and experience match your needs. 🏡 2. Evaluate Individual Skills: Ask about each individual's skills and experience in their respective areas of expertise, such as housekeeping, cooking, gardening, childcare, or maintenance. Look for a balanced couple whose combined skills complement each other and cover all aspects of household management. 👨🍳👩🌾 3. Discuss Roles and Responsibilities: Clarify the division of tasks and responsibilities within the couple. Discuss who will be responsible for specific duties, how they will coordinate their work, and how they will handle overlapping tasks. Establish clear expectations to avoid misunderstandings later on. 🔄 4. Assess Compatibility and Teamwork: Evaluate how well the couple communicates and works together as a team. Look for signs of mutual respect, cooperation, and effective communication. Ask about their previous experience working together and how they handle disagreements or conflicts. 💑 5. Check References and Background: Request references from previous employers or colleagues to verify the couple's reliability, professionalism, and trustworthiness. Conduct background checks to ensure they have a clean criminal record and are legally allowed to work in your country. Thorough vetting is essential when hiring people to work in your home. 🔍 By following these tips, you'll be better equipped to find a compatible and capable domestic couple who can efficiently manage your household and meet your unique needs. Good luck with your search! 🌟
