I often read that bonds’ #diversification potential in #multiasset portfolios is gone. I disagree with this statement, diversification should remain number one principle in cross asset investing. Principle two however is about proper diversification, ideally through a #riskbased lense (as opposed to static capital allocation). Our approach to multi asset is about investing in all liquid risk premia all the time, while dynamically adjusting exposures using a variety of indicators… but always keeping high diversification and tight risk management, because you never know when things may go wrong. With regards to #durationrisk today, after 2-3 years of low exposure we observe some indicators that tentatively stabilize and look better. Nothing as rosy as when we started investing with our #AllRoads approach 12 years ago, but - say - less bad than the past 2 years. See below our short note with Florian Ielpo
