I'm looking forward to participating in this panel discussion in May! As a young professional who was empowered by experienced mentors who treated me as a valued peer, I am so appreciative of vision-focused leadership where the opportunity to learn from people with different perspectives, no matter what age or background, is embraced. Smart leaders live with a growth mindset and know there is always more to be learned.
For all the budding entrepreneurs, this can be a great opportunity to learn the fundamentals of innovation and entrepreneurship in the heart of Silicon Valley (Stanford's d.school).
I was a participant of this program in 2019 (then, it was called the Silicon Valley Innovation Academy). And during this program, I decided to shut down my last startup, that I had been working on for more than a year. Multiple startup events, competitions (several of which we won), and accelerator programs couldn't teach me what I learnt here in 10 weeks.
Things like, what really matters in a founding team, frameworks of innovation thinking and exposure to what is already possible in the world. On top of it, I have also gained some great friends, across different cultures, through this program.
Apply for this program and feel free to connect with me if you have any questions.

My inspiration for this inaugural event came from my deep connection to professional sports and the respect I hold for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award, which honors NFL athletes for their excellence both on the field and in their communities. In the same spirit, the CHANGE AGENTS OF PHOENIX event was created to celebrate real estate professionals who excel in their field while also making a lasting impact beyond their transactions.
In real estate, where authenticity is key, I believe greatness extends far beyond exceptional performance in transactions. True greatness enriches an agent’s work and purpose—it embodies the ability to think beyond individual deals, to give back, and to positively influence the communities that support them. My mission is to elevate real estate and showcase how the industry, through its unique relationship capital, can serve at a much greater capacity—transforming lives and communities through our everyday business responsibilities.
A select few outstanding local agents, nominated and voted on by my event partners and industry peers, have been named this year’s CHANGE AGENTS for exemplifying these core values:
- Create Impact Beyond Transactions: Using their success to drive positive change.
- Embody Core Values: Integrity, purpose-driven action, and collaboration.
- Lead with Inspiration:Their stories inspire meaningful service.
- Serve the Phoenix Metro: Dedicated to improving their local communities.
- Engage Online: Amplifying their impact through a strong online presence.
Their stories are inspiring, and we can’t wait to walk alongside them and honor their dedication and lasting contributions.
Next month’s event will be an exclusive, private gathering held at a custom spec home still under construction, thoughtfully planned in partnership with my builder partner Living Stone Builders and Brian North of North&Co. This intimate setting will provide the perfect backdrop to celebrate the remarkable achievements of our honorees and the genesis of what’s to come.

Thanks so much for having us, Family Business Center - University of St. Thomas! One of the great things about these sessions – and I’m sure Marnie Kittelson will agree – is that as much as we share insights, we also learn a great deal.
There were so many great moments at this session, but one that really stood out for me was an insightful question from a woman from a family business in the Hmong community who asked how to approach marketing in a community that is so culturally unique.
It’s such a great question because I think there’s sometimes a perception in marketing that successful brand strategies can be applied almost interchangeably to different communities and contexts.
The thinking seems to go: Success is success, even if it was a strategy that targeted a completely different audience in a completely different place.
I disagree.
My advice when developing a strategy in unfamiliar contexts is to approach the challenge with humility.
This is when even the most experienced strategist should throw out their favorite playbook, and invest time in listening, learning, and understanding the customers and the community.
A brand strategy, is, after all, about connection.
Thank you to everyone who attended, engaged with us, and shared their insights!

"Best kept secret"
Not for long! This morning, we had the largest event attendance of the last five years, for Branding without Bragging: Marketing the Family Business. It was highly regarded session, co-facilitated by Meghan Lynch and Marnie Kittelson of Six-Point Creative
Our families left with knowledge, new ways of telling their story, internal assessments, and next steps to elevate their brands and grow their businesses while staying true to their values and unique culture.
This was also our first "East Side Day" at the Family Business Center, with 10 first-time families from St. Paul's East Side and a number of the business support organizations they work with. Shout out to Vong Thao, MBA, EDFP, East Side Neighborhood Development Company Inc. (ESNDC), (LEDC MN) Latino Economic Development Center and Paris Dunning for helping organize and bring family business conversations to the East Side, and vice versa!
Join us for a MnCMN Homecoming! Our September Summit is bringing us back to Normandale Community College where we had our last in-person summit before COVID in February 2020. Here are a few pics from that summit along with details on this month's summit. Let's celebrate coming home and how much we've grown as an organization since 2020 on September 19th!

We had an excellent strategic planning session, where we identified four key pillars to focus on: business retention, expansion, attraction, and organizational strength. We're excited to continue this strategic planning journey and drive impactful growth together.

Founder, A. Hart Associates ~ Strategic business consultant helping leaders move their vision forward, faster.
Today I’m working with South Coast Development Council (SCDC) in beautiful Coos Bay, OR to craft their next strategic plan.
SCDC is working to build a thriving and diversified business community on the Southern Oregon Coast by promoting and supporting businesses that provide quality jobs through responsible development. I’m excited because there is so much opportunity for economic development in this community.
I have already been working closely with Executive Director Lexie Woodward, CEcD, PCED to analyze the opportunities and challenges facing the organization, and to identify what it will take to move from where SCDC is currently toward an ideal future.
In our session with the board today, our focus will be on setting priorities by driving consensus around high-level focus areas and objectives that will serve the forward moment of the organization and community.
New Orleans is a city where culture runs deep and the energy of the crowd is as vibrant as its rich history. 🎺✨ Our own Rich Vallaster III, CEM, DES brought back not just beignets and blues but invaluable insights from the @NSBA Conference for Public Education Leaders.
Here are three takeaways for event professionals looking to make the most out of their host cities:
1️⃣ Destination Matters: Choose a city that beckons not just you, but also your attendees AND their families. A destination worth the travel.
2️⃣ Merge Event with Experience: Blur the lines between event spaces and city streets. Plan activities that splash the local colors into your event palette.
3️⃣ Leave a Positive Footprint: Whether through service or advocacy, ensure your event leaves a lasting positive legacy in the city.
