How do you deliver ESG, create meaningful impact AND boost financial performance? All of them need to be closely intertwined with your company's sense of purpose. Why does your company exist? Who do you serve? What big societal or environmental problem are you helping to solve? What would the world be missing if your company ceased to exit? Your purpose is at the heart of these questions. It must be clearly defined and communicated so that it is felt throughout the organisation. Every single person should understand it, feel connected to it, and know how their role contributes towards it. Everyone then understands why sustainability, or supporting local communities is important - they are a fulfilment of your purpose; they bring your vision a step closer to reality. And the right behaviours, the right way to sell products and services, the right way to solve problems - all of this then comes naturally.
