🍍 Building Lasting Partnerships in Hospitality Leadership Recruiting (and more) Nationwide - EHS Recruiting Company - Joint Venture Partner
🙃 𝗠𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗞𝗡𝗢𝗪 𝗺𝗲... It may obvious, but I was just sitting back, thinking of what to say to my LinkedIn network today, and the thought went through my head... I've never met, talked to, or interacted with most of you. I am here to network, build relationships, and hopefully help facilitate a connection between companies and the talent they are seeking. So, today I will share a little about myself! 1. My career was mostly in operations. I worked my way up from an Assistant Manager at SuperAmerica (Speedway), to eventually become a District Manager, a role I then held for roughly 6 years and through 4 acquisitions. I stayed in operations as an Association Manager for a little under 5 years with FirstService Residential, where I picked up some additional skills. 2. I have an entreprenurial streak... I always have had an itch to make something of my own. I was approached to take over the ownership of an adult recreational kickball league (MUSA - Twin Cities) back in 2022 aftwr participating in the league for some time. That ignited my streak and motivated me to become a parter at EHS Recruiting Company, along with my life partner, Lauren Hodges, and our business partner, Vanessa Coates. 3. I like being creative, but was never that artistically gifted, so I dabble in photography, social media, and some other areas that have served as outlets. Now I get to flex those muscles a bit, running the social media accounts for our office, EHS Recruiting Company - Southern California. 𝗜 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗴𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗲𝗹𝘀𝗲 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗸𝗻𝗼𝘄!? Feel free to drop questions in the comments for a little Q&A! #QandA #gettoknowme #bio #biography #aboutme #askme

So proud of my sister-in-law, Nicole Soares for making a decision about working and motherhood that feels right for her. I'm also sad that it takes this level of courage to share that message with a professional world that enjoys the optics of honoring women and motherhood when it's convenient (see: International Women's Day! Mother's Day! Every marketing campaign for a product geared towards Moms!) but falls short of implementing programs, policies and common sense flexibility that would go much further in actually supporting them and championing their rights. The change that could be brought about if we started honoring the duality of the burden AND privilege that is Motherhood and worked to make it possible for women to choose both in a way that didn't break them, would be the ultimate equity move. The answer is NOT better/more childcare, which only separates mothers and children more efficiently across more hours, leaving our mothers burnt out and our children disconnected. Rather, we should be rethinking what we prioritize as a society and taking a fresh approach to what work looks like and how we can provide a bridge to these women during what is essentially, a season (and perhaps the most impactful one, at that). We have a collective responsibility as a society to ensure a healthy, nurturing and connected upbringing for all children in which Mothers are as present as they'd like to be. I am in awe of all the Moms who have chosen this path while trying to keep themselves involved in the professional work that has also been an important part of their lives. *If you know of any professional/working Mothers in this situation who need guidance or support in thinking about how to navigate this tricky time, I offer informal and free of charge support/coaching on this topic/for women. Please feel free to share my information with them.*
My new boss is six months old and brings me so much joy! On what would have been my first week back to work after the birth of our daughter Hadley, I am instead sharing that I left my full-time position as Sales Marketing Manager at NBC & Telemundo CT. While bittersweet, this decision reflects my desire to prioritize raising Hadley and reimagine how work looks for me in this next chapter. I am incredibly grateful for my 10 years with NBCUniversal where I grew immensely personally and professionally! As a Marketing Coordinator I learned the ropes of media advertising and how the many pieces of this puzzle come together to help businesses reach audiences. I then joined the NBCU Sales Associate Program and was blown away by the platforms, scale and network of leaders that make this company a success. For the next five years, I was an Account Executive and worked with local businesses and national brands that taught me negotiation, organization, project management and ownership. I was humbled many times (especially as a sales person during COVID) and learned to have patience with myself and others in a rapidly changing industry. My last stop as Sales Marketing Manager was the most rewarding as I focused on growing and supporting my team and our sales reps. Although transitioning from doing to teaching was a change, I truly loved being a people manager. I am beyond thankful for each of these opportunities, as well as the supportive management and clients I’ve had the pleasure of working for and with. Being a mom and working doesn’t have to be a one-size-fits-all situation. I am excited for this next chapter with my family, while also exploring part-time and/or remote opportunities that continue my career in marketing and advertising. Keep me in mind if you see a role that I would be a good fit for and I look forward to sharing updates as they come! #fulltimemom #parttimework #grateful #marketing #advertising #newchapter

Will Write For You! | Comment assassin raiding your threads like pilfered pockets for precious fantastical phrases | Definitely probably possibly maybe sorta not a troll | Currently canoodling your connections
Being new to LinkedIn I’m inclined to experiment: I applied to Auburn Racquet & Fitness Club via another website regarding a position I’m entirely qualified for (Aquatics Director/Manager). I wanted to follow up, but can’t because I’m not close enough to their network on this site, and they don’t have any open postings here. My impulse is to just show up at their facility, but I’m fully aware that is frowned upon in the current era, and having been in their shoes, I entirely respect why that’s the case. Process of elimination steals a second option. Do any more experienced individuals have any advice for connecting with them? (I tried calling, but there seemed to be many degrees of separation between the front desk and the individuals who would be involved with hiring the position I qualified for.) (Also, if I use the company name, does it increase their employees’ chances of seeing this post? And if I used their names would it help? I won’t, because I don’t hinge toward doxing, just curious how it all works on a more technical level…)

No Director-level role in sports should be paying less than six-figures. Period. Full stop. 🛑 I don't care what your organization is or does. Anything less than $100K (USD) for a Director-level title means you are either 1) woefully below market rate or 2) over-titling the job and this is actually a manager-level role.

Post-game coverage of the recruiting desk here at OBE earlier this week. Me- Working. Businessing. Hiring Manager 1- "I know of an internal candidate that is awesome. I'd like to promote her into a job that doesn't exist today". Me- Well that's awesome :) Hiring Manager 2, like 30 minutes later- "I know of 4 internal candidates that are awesome. I'd like to promote them into jobs that don't exist today". Me- Hang on. Did you say 4?! This "promoting-you-into-a-job-that-doesn't-exist-today" seriously happened to 5 employees in like 30 minutes?! So, so, so very awesome. I guess I'm saying happy Friday and OBE is awesome. The end :) #nowhiring #OBE #recruiting #recruitinglife #companyculture #recruitingdifferently #internalmobility #promotions
