It’s been a great few days at Bisnow #DICEEast. Though I wasn’t able to make all the panels, the discussion on “Building at Scale” was a major standout for me (great job across the board by the panelists - Adam Black, Mike Boteler, Gary Cudmore, Reid Senescu, Ross Rebraca, and Marshall Sorenson, DBIA). Need to give specific shout out to Marshall Sorenson, DBIA who had a great analogy when it comes to improving supply chain driven delays… “if zero is bidding day, owners should try to bring in solution vendors as far left of zero as possible”. This concept alleviates the last minute/reactive design changes that are often the cause for major project delays and cost overruns. Though Parklane specializes in retrofit noise control solutions, we encourage project stakeholders to get us involved as far upstream in the design process as possible for noise sensitive sites. This helps optimize the sound attenuation strategy, inevitably derisking projects through the seamless integration of the noise control to the intended building design.
