I don’t think the other shoe has dropped yet in those markets that were traditionally nexus headquarters. We have dramatically reduced our exposure. If you’re a B grade or BB grade building, you really can’t get anybody to rent that space. We’re going to have to go through a period of redeployment of that space. For me the most excited area in commercial real estate currently is data centers.

📣 Yesterday inCitu founder Dana Chermesh-Reshef presented at a special event by VRAR Chicago on #SpatialComputing in architecture and construction. Today we're taking a closer look at Chicago. Is the Windy City set to harness the power of spatial computing? Leveraging #OpenData could be the key to putting city planning information at residents fingertips in 3D! 📈 In the last decade, City of Chicago's population grew by 400,000 residents. Last year the city issued 1296 permits for new construction. Recently, Chicago mayor Brandon Johnson signed an executive order to streamline the approval processes for residential and commercial construction to enhance economic activity and boost affordable housing growth. 🌐 Using inCitu’s pipeline with Chicago's Open Data Portal, we were able to extract spatial data from Chicago’s accessible permitting records. We found 28 future developments that had enough public permitting data for 3D model creation, meaning these projects are instantly ready to view with smartphones in their real-world locations, true to scale! These projects are available to view now through our Chicago web map: https://lnkd.in/eXNxQkn2 There were also hundreds more permits that could be ready to view in augmented reality with just a few more attributes such as building height or number of stories. Feature Presentation at Infraday SE - July 18 - Nashville - www.infraday.com/se- "Using Smart Technology to Improve Work Zone Safety" - Rear end collisions due to unexpected, stopped traffic is the number one cause of Work Zone related crashes, making up over 40% of Rural Interstate and 30% of urban interstate work. As such, queue protection is the most valuable tool that DOTs have to prevent work zone related crashes along our freeways and interstates. Long duration road work along our controlled access roadways creates several scenarios that create unexpected slowed and stopped traffic. Due to the changing nature of queues, traditionally this task has been conducted by vehicles that are able to change location with traffic conditions. However, the new “Smart Technology” now allows for dynamic messaging to be displayed that reflects real time changes in traffic conditions. These systems provide numerous warnings of downstream traffic conditions which have been shown to be much more effective in reducing crashes and be done at a significant cost savings compared to traditional methods of queue protection.
