Picked up lots of great local coverage this week announcing the big win for the Sazerac Bar (s/o Catherine Koppel, Katie Grace Walshe & The Ehrhardt Group as usual). It got me to thinking about a few things: 1. A national win for your bar/hotel/restaurant is also a win for your city. 2. Good PR can maximize/extend the reach of any campaign if there's a relevant story to tell and an audience who will listen. 3. Even if a campaign feels specific to one particular marketing channel, always consider how it can expand within that channel or translate to another channel.

"Historic it may be, but this is a hotel that continues to maintain relevance with travelers making their way to New Orleans..." 😊 In a town that's largely built on tourism, the hotel competition is stiff—and the new boutique hotels are really quite exceptional. It's an honor to see The Roosevelt New Orleans, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel is still a top pick for travelers after 130 years!

"We're not asking the right question." Last night, I finished the new season of True Detective, and while I'll be sleeping with a light on this week, I thoroughly enjoyed the spooky storytelling. As a strategist, one theme struck me in particular: Chief Liz Danvers continually pushing her team to "ask the right question." In strategy, questions help us frame a problem, which, in turn, helps us create a path to a solution. Danvers (played by Jodie Foster) pressed her team to keep asking questions until they get to the *right* question, and I think strategists could easily pick that habit up for their own work (though perhaps with a little less intensity). If anything, it's challenged me to think twice the next time I frame a question... just to make sure it's the right one.
