💸 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐡 💸 📈 FC Bayern München make history this year, with an annual turnover exceeding $1 billion for the first time in the club’s history. Total profit rose by an impressive 15% to $66.2 million, while net profit climbed 21% to $45.5 million. 🌍 A key driver behind this success is their unparalleled membership program, boasting 382,000 members, the largest of any club worldwide. 📈 This achievement also reflects the Bundesliga International GmbH’s broader growth, with commercial revenue increasing by 19% last season to nearly $1.89 billion and broadcast revenue rising by 10% to approximately $1.58 billion. Finally, a large contributing factor in this, is the leagues leading game attendance averages, which was at 42,966 spectators per match in the 23/24 season, and an average stadium utilisation of 92%. 🏟️ Even in these standards, Bayern excels, selling out the 75,000 seat Allianz Arena in every home game in the 23/24 season, as well as being on track to do the same this year. ❌ 🏆 What makes these figures even more impressive is that they were achieved during a trophyless season, Bayern’s first since 2011/12, and under Germany’s strict ticket pricing regulations, which limit revenue from ticket sales. These results display the power of fan engagement and serve as a powerful reminder to clubs and rights holders: prioritizing fans and maintaining strong community ties can deliver extraordinary financial and organisational success. #SportBiz #SportBusiness #Football #Bayern

⚽️ Welcome to a New Era of Football? Last night, I went to the Baller League Final Four competition with Hamilton Bowler and Raynold Harris in Düsseldorf. The top teams in the German league faced off in this fast-paced six-a-side indoor football team and “Streets United” were crowned as champions. The night was filled with 30-minute long matches, musical performances, fun fan events, engaging sports commentary and tons of amazing moments. The arena was packed and it really felt like a modern version of football, especially compared to the Bundesliga. It was the most commercially American-esque sports spectacle I’ve ever seen in Europe. It was as if the Baller Leagued hired consultants from the NFL and NBA to create a new entertainment product. But there was also some of that true, authentic passion you find in European football. Die hard fans of all the teams were in the arena, with their own respective chants, bannners, and traditions - pretty impressive for a league that’s barely a year old. German football legend Kevin-Prince Boateng is the manager of a team and other famous footballers like Alisha Lehmann, Lukas Podolski, and Mats Hummels are involved. Brands like Samsung, Codafone and Nivea were sponsors - I can see why they view the Baller League as a potentially more impactful sponsorship than the Bundesliga, especially if you’re trying to reach a younger audience with better return on your investment. At the end of the day, Baller League is made for modern times and now I can see the vision. It’s made for the next generation, a league created specifically for Gen-Z and the TikTok generation. I came in unsure of what to expect, but am now very bullish on the Baller League and other modern variations on traditional sports. #sports #ballerleague #football #soccer #sportsmedia #sportsindustry #media #entertainment

⚽ Bayer Leverkusen became Bundesliga Deutscher Meister after 120 years 🏆 🇪🇸 The Spanish flare and leadership by Fernando Carro and Xabi Alonso, along with a very talented squad, helped turn things around. ¡Enhorabuena! 🙌 But not everyone is Bayer Leverkusen, and a lot of rights holders are actually: Struggling in the mid or back of the field 🏁 Holding on to a lifeline from a handful of sponsors 🆘 Living off ticketing, signage kit and ground boards, using the same old revenue model. The problem is, this model is not aimed at growth, it’s aimed at survival 🚒 🔥 A quick round of fire for Right Holders reading this: Do you know your Media Value? Do you know how much ROI your team can generate for Sponsors? Are you living off the same old revenue model described above? I was in rugby, and I know the struggle for all of us who were not in Bundesliga 1, is real. Small nuggets of Framework after servicing more than 10 years of Sponsorship accounts: 🚧 Develop a Deck Portfolio: Map out signage spaces, kit spaces, and billboards. Get creative with new ad ground boards to maximise space. 🗯 Activate Socials Inventory: If you’re not monetising your social media inventory, you are simply leaving money on the table 💸 💭 Activate Streaming Channels: With options the likes of Twitch to create an open space for engagement to connect with fans, any channel can be activated to include Media Inventory. Ask yourself: What is your Team not doing to generate new revenue? Our mission in #ApolloSBG is to leverage the playing field for #rightsholders, and exactly why we work hard at #Sportiship to craft the tools your Team needs to succeed at fractional prices. Ready to scale your team’s sponsorship? 🏎 🏁

RB Leipzig's journey from the fifth tier of German football to becoming a UEFA Champions League regular is nothing short of remarkable. Backed by Red Bull, the club have built a reputation for strategic planning and talent development. While some view Leipzig’s ascent as a modern success story, others criticize its corporate backing and perceived commercialization of the sport. Johann Plenge, RB Leipzig’s Managing Director, offers a behind-the-scenes look at the club’s journey. 1. What has driven RB Leipzig’s rapid success? RB Leipzig’s growth has been fueled by a strategic focus on developing young talent, supported by Red Bull’s investment. The club quickly progressed through the divisions by nurturing future stars and maintaining a long-term vision, rather than relying solely on high-profile transfers. 2. How does Red Bull’s involvement impact the club? While Red Bull provides financial support and resources, RB Leipzig operates with significant autonomy. The club shares philosophies with other Red Bull-owned teams, but maintains its own identity and direction, benefiting from the global exposure the parent company offers. 3. What impact has RB Leipzig had on the local community? The success of RB Leipzig has not only raised the profile of the club but also positively affected the city of Leipzig and the surrounding region. Increased international attention, coupled with the club's economic contributions, has boosted the local economy and brought renewed interest in the area.
