🚀 We are thrilled to announce the rollout of our new Posts feature on the Legal.io platform, designed to help legal professionals connect and collaborate like never before. Check out the announcement here: https://bit.ly/4cUY9Fy
Over the years, we've leveraged the Legal.io platform to help our members find jobs, hire talent, and access Salary Insights and other valuable resources. Now, with our new Posts feature, in-house legal professionals can:
🔹 Ask questions about legal or career-related topics
🔹 Start discussions on subjects you’re passionate about
🔹 Share your advice and recommendations with in-house peers
🔹 Celebrate wins or share personal or team milestones
🔹 Or do something unexpected – as long as it’s legal 😉
We’ve been refining our community features through various channels and experiments, including an In-House Slack Group, a group that allows for anonymous QA, and engaging with our 35k+ followers on LinkedIn.
These efforts have given us a clear vision of what a community platform tailored to legal professionals could be. This rollout marks the beginning of incorporating those ideas into the core Legal.io platform.
Post is available to verified in-house members in its initial rollout, with several other groups launching in the future. Verified members can post anonymously for sensitive questions, but anonymity is not the default; responses are always attributed to maintain accountability and trust.
The core reason I'm so excited about the potential of this feature is because it's powered by the amazing legal professionals in our community, which has seen incredible growth in the past year. A huge shoutout to everyone on the Legal.io team that made this happen.
We can't wait to see what we’ll learn together. If you're a legal professional who works in-house, check it out, we'd love your feedback. Thank you for being part of our journey, and let us know how we can support yours! 🚀

I have not posted here in, well, ever...but the time has come.
Having worked in-house for more than a decade and now having launched a tech startup, I have seen first-hand and up-close how hard it is to find practical legal advice that suits your needs. 😤 The practice of law is broken. $1000+ an hour lawyers are commonplace, and firms have their hands in all of your pockets the day you walk in the door. 🤑 They speak a language you don't know and tell you things you do not understand. Firms all say they are different but that's a myth. To prove it, I asked ChatGPT to write me a law firm "about" page for a firm that says they practice differently. The results are in the comments. It could be any firm. ❗
You need a guide to wade the legal waters; a guide not tied to the billable hours or the pressure to produce for a firm and extract more and more work from you. 🆘 If you don't have a guide, you have a target on you. No one likes to say this out loud, but this is the reality of a competitive legal marketplace beholden to the billable hour. This is not to say firms should not make money. It is a business, after all. But it is to say that you need someone independent to protect your interests. 🕊
This is why I've decided to offer fixed-fee and personalized fees for services on a limited basis to help you navigate the legal waters. Whether you want on-call services, legal consulting, second opinions, or someone to act as your legal consigliere to manage your legal work without being beholden to Powers That Be, I can help. 🤝
Take a look at my website and if this sounds interesting to you, let's connect.

People often wonder, how do entrepreneurs afford life while building a new business? I am past the age of living in my parents' garage or couch surfing with friends, so that's not it.
But I do have a special set of skills that are different than Liam Neeson's skills but equally valuable: I know law. From all sides. I've worked in Big Law and at small firms; I've represented corporate defendants and personal injury clients; I've prosecuted and defended class actions; I've represented individuals, businesses, government entities, lawyers, and judges. I've helped startups go public.
This is a long way of saying my mom was right: If you get a law degree, you'll always be able to work. So that's what I do.
I offer fixed-fee services for a select number of clients who want practical guidance from an experienced attorney who won't charge for every call or email, who is not incentivized to upsell and bill, bill, bill, and who understands what you're going through. You may not know it yet, but you should have an independent guide to help you through the legal labyrinth and den of wolves that live in law firms.
I can be your guide (but only for some of you because I have to fix job search, too).
This is how I maintain life while building Jolo. Helping people. That's the common theme.

The Importance of Legal Technology🌟
Legal technology, or "LegalTech," is transforming the way the legal industry operates, making processes more efficient, accessible, and innovative. As the world moves further into the digital age, embracing technology in law is becoming essential.
Why Legal Tech Matters:
Efficiency and Accuracy: Legal technology automates time-consuming tasks like document review, contract analysis, and legal research. This helps lawyers focus on more strategic work while reducing the risk of human error.
Access to Justice: With online legal platforms, more people can access legal services, regardless of their location or financial status. This is crucial in making the law more inclusive.
Cost Savings: Automating routine tasks reduces costs for law firms, and clients benefit from more affordable legal services, making the entire process more streamlined and cost-effective.
Data-Driven Decisions: Legal tech tools use data analytics to help predict case outcomes, streamline contract negotiations, and offer insights that enhance decision-making.
Legal technology is not just a trend—it’s reshaping the legal landscape, and those who embrace it are better positioned to lead in the future.
