Have you ever had the honor and privilege to work with truly inspirational leaders?    If you have, you know they all have similar characteristics that always seek to inspire and motivate people to become the best version of themselves. According to Kathy Lockwood, think about the leaders you have worked for: -Did they inspire you? -Were you willing to go that extra mile to get work done for them? -If they moved on to another role, did you want to follow them? -Were you given opportunities to grow due to their trust in you? As you think of the answers to these questions, think about your own leadership style. Do you inspire your direct reports or your peers to do their best work? Becoming a great leader requires work; it's not an overnight thing. You will have some very challenging days, and sometimes, you may even have doubts about your ability to lead. Don't be too hard on yourself; it's a natural part of the process. Never lose hope, hold onto your faith and continue your leadership development because every incremental improvement brings you one step closer to becoming truly an inspirational leader. Honestly in year 2022 using this language and mindset is a shame. Let me break it down for you. This post shows a lousy leader with utter failure in leadership. “Have you ever had the honor and privilege to work with truly inspirational leaders?” - Honour was theirs, serving amazing teams. “-Did they inspire you?“: - Don’t be inspired by leaders. Be inspired by your teams, their kindness, their grit, their willingness to go the extra miles for their teams. “If they moved on to another role, did you want to follow them? “. - No. Don’t be a slave. What about your team mates? Would you leave your team mates just because the “supreme leader” moved? What about your mission? What a lousy leader that didn’t create amazing environment that people want to stay. What a lame leader that created dependency to himself or herself. A major failure in leadership that didn’t create an environment of independence, autonomy and freedome. “Were you given opportunities to grow due to their trust in you? “: - No. Worked with some amazing team mates that made me want to be better. I didn’t want to let my team mates down. The autonomy and freedom I felt being part of leaderless and self managing team had a sense of euphoria.

Jon Houston This is you!

My thoughts exactly, but yet we have so many in leadership positions that are clueless of their role. It must for income & status quo only. In my journey of filing EEOC discrimination & US MSPB complaint its shameful what the so called 'PROFESSIONALS" look like these days. Based on the attys I sought out to congressional ofc, state, & federal officials was something horrifying in my home sate of GA, VA & minimal in AZ & CA. I paid consultation fee $380 & was told she could do nothing in 2012 to Temeka West http://www.twestlaw.com/attorney-profile.html being an AA woman & attending the same university as my ex-husband niece Atty A. Turnipseed with US Veterans Affairs in DC was a professional collaboration of young woman, I was wrong. Another atty then a Ga state unemployment admin hearing officer Kellyn Kincaid, https://www.martindale.com/attorney/kellyn-kincaid-300583082/. Then the abusive behaviors from the late congressman J. Lewis office reps Aaron Ward & Tuere Butler, then later congressman Gerry Connolly, rep Alex Robbins. Unfortunately, professionalism is hard to find regardless if you are paying or an entitled to professional svcs. LEADERSHIP FIRST SHOULD=PROFESSIONALISM REGARDS! WHO ARE PEOPLE LISTENING TO?

It is so unfortunate that these traits are often referred to as "soft skills" and are under-valued as well as under-appreciated in the swirl of most corporate environments.
