These resources have helped most of us to visualize, interpret and map distant planetary surfaces, leading to extraordinary discoveries. But, what about your colleague, friend or family member who is visually impaired or blind? How might these discoveries and observations be as powerful for them as it is for you? We ask questions like this all of the time so that people with disabilities can have the same experiences as people without, whether it is understanding what an asteroid or small body is, experiencing a lunar or solar eclipse, or using spectroscopy to determine the composition of a planet’s surface. What is it about a total eclipse that holds such fascination for humans! Imagine what it did to our ancestors - fear for sure. What can’t be explained, often evokes fear. But then the phenomenon was explained and many still didn’t believe it. Fast forward, now that we are not in the dark, we want to understand its effects - no fear - to eclipse our #curiosity NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration is preparing for a mission to study how the sudden decrease in sunlight affects our upper atmosphere - three suborbital "sounding" rockets equipped with scientific instruments will be launched in succession – before, during the peak and one after – to measure changes in electric and magnetic fields, density, and temperature. Can’t wait to hear the cool findings!

What are some thoughts regarding the long-awaited release of this somewhat inconclusive NASA UAP report? As an educated and trained observational Astronomer, I’ve spent many thousands of hours over the past several decades observing the night sky, using anything from my unaided eye to powerful observatory telescopes and instrumentation. And, quite rarely, I *have* seen objects or phenomena in the sky which I could not immediately identify; whether due to their appearance, motion, or some other unusual characteristic. That’s a textbook definition right there of a UAP, or “Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena”. However, I also spent those same decades as a KSC Spacecraft and Launch Vehicle Engineer, in addition to providing engineering support for high-performance DoD aircraft flight testing. Therefore I have a very strong personal hunch that, had any of those UAPs been an actual *physical* craft, their data plates would have read, “Lockheed Martin”, “Boeing”, “Northrop Grumman”, or even “Mikoyan”, “Sukhoi”, or “Ilyushin”. As opposed to “Proxima Centauri Industries, LLC”, “Tau Ceti Spacecraft, Inc.”, or “Wolf 1069, GmbH”. 😁 (humor, rather than strict scientific accuracy, is intended here 👍🏼)

The Fireball collaboration team has achieved a groundbreaking milestone in understanding relativistic electron-positron plasmas, which are crucial for decoding the dynamics of black hole jets. Using CERN's HiRadMat facility, they generated an unprecedented high-density beam of electron-positron pairs, exceeding ten trillion pairs. This number is crucial for sustaining a plasma state, allowing detailed laboratory experiments that bridge theoretical simulations and astronomical observations. By extracting 300 billion protons from CERN's Super Proton Synchrotron and targeting graphite and tantalum, the team produced this powerful plasma, setting the stage for future experiments. Their next goal is to observe how these jets interact with plasma to generate magnetic fields, addressing one of the greatest puzzles in high-energy astrophysics.
