Helping Australia & NZ's top Business Intelligence and Data Analytics data driven businesses attract & retain the best talent in the market

I had a look at job ad posted online yesterday (24 hours ago) by a client for a data role. They already had 100 applicants 😱 😱 😱 . The data market has shifted massively, a couple of years ago that would be sitting at about 10 applicants, if any! It made me think, how can you stand out as a data applicant to secure a screening call and make it to the interview stage. 💭 check your CV lines up with your LinkedIn profile 💭 brush up your CV, formatting, grammar and the content 💭 include your phone number & email address on your CV These 3 things could seem simple but are looked over quite frequently by data professionals. #jobad #standout #data

I think that most applicants are using AI tools for auto job apply. So you see a job post having 100 applications within hours. Most of the applicants who use Ai tools to apply may not exactly fit into those roles and there could be words used to identify job roles and auto apply. How could a Head in something have 100 applicants within a couple of hours? I think AI tools definitely need a streamlining and this hotch potch way of applying is fruitless. Hiring managers and talent team need to find a better way to get good candidates.

Insightful! It’s weird to see see such fast process of applications. I feel surprised too for hirer how difficult for them to pick someone marching. I doubt they have months to go through each to find out right candidate.
