We’ll be real with you…hiring a summer student isn’t a “quick” “no work” option - there’s some time and effort requirements to mentor, train, and support them - but there are many ways that hiring a summer student can benefit your company! 1 - Getting a summer student for a few months is an inexpensive way to audition talent. It’s like a long-term interview! 2 - While they may be more inexperienced, you’ll get value for less money - a full or part time salary is often more expensive than a summer coop. 3 - You have the chance to make a good impression for your company. Students talk about their experiences and making sure that you’re top of the list as a “great place to work” will allow you to choose the best candidates when you do go to hire! (AND, for future summer student positions!) 4 - Providing a place students come and learn real hands-on skills is a good look for your business! Strengthening your alliance with educators and faculty members could provide valuable partnerships for future hiring efforts! Thinking about hiring summer students? Already have them coming but want to create an incredible experience for them? We have lots of ideas and suggestions - let’s chat!

Here’s the info on internships at NetApp.
📣 It's intern recruiting season! A summer internship is a fantastic way for college juniors and seniors to explore career paths, learn how to work in a corporate environment, and develop their networks. And for the hiring company, we get the benefits of hearing new ideas, developing leadership skills through mentoring, and building a pipeline of new team members. It's a win win! I've long been proud of NetApp's focus on talent development and diversity: 👉 Our talent acquisition team is second to none 👉 We have an impressive summer intern program, hiring across many functions including sales, marketing, hr, finance, legal, and IT and creating a cohort experience of learning, networking, and executive exposure (We're lucky enough to be hiring an intern on my team this year!) 👉 And for those who join us full-time after graduation you can expect a world-class early in career experience. 🎖 In fact, we were just recognized as one of RippleMatch's 2024 Campus Forward Award winners, among the best of the best due to our approach to recruitment, candidate experience, technology, D&I, and programs. If you are a college student or know a college student who is ready for an amazing summer growth experience, start here 👉 https://lnkd.in/gbFFzecB Thank you NetApp EIC team! At this point I have come to the conclusion that, any business can be built if: Consistent efforts are put in the right direction with the right people. Get your team right and you're bussing 💗 Here is a simple hiring tip: 1. Hire one expert or You become the expert. 2. Hire interns who can commit and make them a part of it Obviously with Interns the commitment issue is 100X more. But I get messages like these, which reveal a different story...

As an intern or new grad hire, don’t be afraid to pitch your ideas! While it’s important to execute well on your core responsibilities first, remember—you were hired for your skills AND your perspective. I recommend carving out time about once a month with your manager/supervisor to talk through and get feedback on new ideas you think could benefit the team. This demonstrates initiative, creativity, and commitment to the growth of your work.

With news of layoffs in big tech and media, the job market is a point of contention. However, new grads are extremely concerned. Entry-level jobs aren’t quite entry-level anymore and many struggle to land a good job. Our summer intern Luke Atwood breaks down reasons why new graduates struggle (from the employer's perspective) and ways to stand out more as a new applicant. #jobsearch #jobhunt #opentowork #collegeplanning #summerinternship

In 2023, I faced rejections from Yugabyte, Goldman Sachs, and Intuit 😓 Here’s what went wrong: 🔸 I didn't tailor my resume to match the job descriptions and used the same resume for every application. 🔸 I didn't prioritize getting referrals and applied directly instead. 🔸 I only sought full-time opportunities and didn't consider internships, which could have been the best path to a full-time offer with less effort. 🔸 I didn't practice mock interviews and made mistakes in the actual interviews. To turn my rejections into success, I connected with a mentor who helped me with my resume, referrals, and mock interviews ✅ Now, you can also connect with such mentors at Preplaced. Book a FREE session with them here: https://lnkd.in/gFeg9yvZ They’ll help you create an impressive resume, prepare for coding interviews, provide mock interviews, and share valuable insights from their experiences at top tech companies ✨
