Employees waste ~ 40% of their workday on activities that hold minimal professional value.* Here's how MSLs can change that... It can feel overwhelming knowing where and how to prioritize your time and energy to obtain "maximal professional value" in the MSL role. But it is possible. Understand how MSLs provide value at your company then align your time and energy in those areas. Speak to your manager and ask how you can best support the medical strategy and provide value to your company. Seek support by engaging with team members and sharing best practices. Offer ideas and suggestions for what's worked for you and what hasn't in your role and territory. Take a moment to reflect on how you spend your days and where it creates the most positive impact and value then do more of those things. Slight modifications can create a BIG shift in terms of maximizing your MSL impact. For additional ideas on how to make an impact as an MSL, let's chat. 💜 *From the HBR article, "Make Time for the Work That Matters" by Julian Birkinshaw and Jordan Cohen - - - Hi, I’m Shelby. 🌟 The importance of planning prior to employing your Practice Manager🌟 One of the questions I get asked from my clients, is what initial steps do I need to take to employ a Practice Manager. As the backbone of any successful healthcare practice, the role of a Practice Manager cannot be overstated. If you're looking to attract a top-tier candidate and enhance the efficiency of your practice, here are the key steps to consider: 1️⃣ Define Your Needs: Assess your practice's specific needs and challenges. Write this up with an accountability chart, not just for the Practice Manager's role but for every role in your practice. Clearly outline the responsibilities and skills required for the Practice Manager role. 2️⃣ Craft a Compelling Position Description: Develop a detailed and engaging position description that reflects the dynamic nature of the role. You need to highlight the opportunity for impact and growth within your practice as this will entice the right candidate for you that will grow with your practice. 3️⃣ Showcase Your Practice: Articulate what sets your practice apart. Is it your commitment to patient care, cutting-edge technology, or a supportive work culture? Emphasise the unique benefits and perks that make your practice an attractive workplace. 4️⃣ Be an Employer of Choice: Demonstrate a commitment to work-life balance, professional development, and a positive workplace culture. Showcase any industry recognitions or awards your practice has received. Show that you are an employer of choice as this is highly important for upcoming Practice Managers. 5️⃣ Network Effectively: Leverage professional networks, both online and offline, to spread the word about your Practice Manager opportunity. This is such an integral step in finding the right candidate for you. Encourage your team to share the opportunity within their networks. 6️⃣ Engage in the Recruitment Process: Actively participate in the recruitment process to convey your commitment to finding the right candidate. Be responsive and transparent with potential candidates. A skilled Practice Manager can be a game-changer for your practice, streamlining operations, enhancing patient care, and contributing to overall success. Make the hiring process a collaborative effort and invest time in finding the perfect fit for your team. Remember, the right Practice Manager can be the catalyst for taking your practice to new heights. If you require any help with hiring your next Practice Manager or if the steps you need to take sound overwhelming, send an email to [email protected] to arrange a 1:1 strategy meeting. Recruiting Registered Nurses, Healthcare Assistants and Support Workers for Adult and Young Peoples Care across London, Surrey and Sussex
🔹 Effective Feedback for HCAs: A Client's Guide 🔹 Understanding how to provide effective feedback to healthcare assistants (HCAs) hired through an agency can make a significant difference in the quality of care provided. Here's my approach to ensure clarity and constructiveness in the feedback process. Firstly, specificity is key. Instead of vague statements like "do better" or "not satisfied," focus on particular incidents or aspects of care. For instance, mentioning how the HCA managed a difficult situation with empathy or how they could improve their communication can be incredibly beneficial for their growth. This encourages a two-way street where HCAs understand exactly what is expected. Secondly, always aim for a balanced critique. Highlighting what the HCA is doing right can motivate them and ensure they feel valued. For example, "Your attention to detail when monitoring my medication has been outstanding" followed by areas of improvement shows that you recognise their efforts and helps maintain their morale. Lastly, timely feedback is crucial. Addressing issues or praising efforts quickly ensures the HCA can implement changes or continue with their positive behaviour right away. Keeping a record of feedback can also help track progress over time. Your feedback is instrumental in shaping the care you receive. Let's strive for a collaborative and constructive approach for the best outcomes. #HomeCare #ClientFeedback #HealthcareQuality

Change Catalyst | Strategic Leadership | Patient Experience | Med Ed Innovation | Healthcare Transformation | Operational Excellence | Pharmacist | MBA, PMP cand.|
Another life almost slipped away from me yesterday. As I performed CPR on a young man, I found myself reflecting on my own journey. Moments like these remind me of why I became a #pharmacist. It's not just about the treatments or protocols—it’s about the lives we touch every single day. Each decision, each action, can alter someone’s future, and that’s a responsibility I don’t take lightly. As a #healthcare provider, I hope to be remembered for showing up with compassion, resilience, and a fierce commitment to the lives in my care. As a leader, my goal has always been to #empower others—to build teams where people feel supported, valued, and inspired to give their best. Because at the end of the day, it’s not about titles or recognition—it’s about the people we impact and the legacy we leave behind. Inside the boardroom or on the front lines, let's strive to lead with #heart and #purpose. Let's be remembered as #leaders who fought for people, no matter where they stood. That’s the biggest contribution we can make—whether we’re saving lives or helping others realize their full potential—and it’s a legacy worth striving for. 🚀 *************** Tania Antenucci, RPh is a healthcare leader, pharmacist, and advocate for EQ-based leadership, with a passion for driving innovation and operational excellence.
