Another milestone achieved! 🚀 This week we completed our very first interview at Lead Talent Solutions! 🎉 I'm thrilled to say everything went smoothly – compliance, process, setup, application, contract, and terms and conditions are all in place. 💯 The key for us is ensuring each interview is structured correctly, with all candidates receiving the exact same information about the businesses we currently work with or will be working with in the future. 🤝 It was definitely a nerve-wracking experience, even though I've been interviewing people for the past 15 years! 😅 Here are some tips I learned: Be open and honest. I told the candidate it was my first interview (and he was kind enough to say he felt honoured!), and that we just opened our doors four weeks ago. Transparency goes a long way. ✨ People understand – explain how you're feeling. Let them know you're new but eager to learn and grow together. 🌱 Here's to many more successful interviews! 🥂 #newbeginnings #talentacquisition #proudmoment I hope this helps! Do you remember your first interview? 🙃

Is there such thing as TOO many questions during the interview process? I've been in interviews when none are asked, and when a huge amount have been asked. I personally don't think there's a limit once they're relevant (and haven't been covered previously). Asking questions shows your interest and you'll inevitably gain a better understanding of the business and role - after all, it's a two-way street. Take a few extra minutes to create a 'Pre-Interview' list, with several important things you'd like to learn about the company's culture, development opportunities, management, the overall business strategy, pipeline, and opportunities, (along with details of your role!) As the great man Roy Keane once said "Fail to prepare, prepare to fail."

In every interview, there is always the mounting expectation and excitement that the offer is just round the corner. After all, who goes into an interview imagining the worst? But the results can be different from expectation, especially if you missed the 𝒈𝒊𝒔𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒗𝒊𝒆𝒘. ☝ Successful candidates do the following: 1. Deep dive into the company 2. Understand the recent developments of the company 3. Prepare ahead with examples, scenarios, details of how your experience will support the company's pursuits This is not rocket science, but the catch is this. If you have the same generic answer to every company you're interviewing for, that's not your best preparation. Do different. Be specific. #careerstrategy #interviewcoaching

Don't waste time going for interviews if you plan to be generic about your Why*. *Why you are the best candidate #career #interviewtips p.s. employers hire the best.

In my career so far, I've encountered two main types of interviews: those focused on memorization and those that assess critical thinking skills. I believe the second one is more important because anyone can repeat what they know, but real success comes from thinking outside the box. While evaluating candidates, most of the hiring managers prioritize individuals who exhibit a capacity for innovative thinking rather than one confined in their comfort zones. So jobseekers, step out of your comfort zones, and explore beyond existing technologies and remember success comes to those who embrace challenges #interviewsuccess #criticalthinking

The interview process is broken. Hiring managers only look to check boxes. That's why I do interviews differently. I have a simple aim: Have a conversation. The best part is it puts their curiosity on display. I allow the conversation to flow freely and see where it takes us. Sure, I ask them questions to find out more about their skills. But I always start off by trying to get to know the person first. Hiring managers: I hope you treat candidates like humans. Our purpose should be to get to know them. Not grill them. P.S. It's been a busy day of interviews and I'm looking forward to wrapping up the day with my last one! 🤩 It's important to ask the right questions at the end of an interview to get the most out of it and truly understand the candidate. Here's some of my go-to questions that I always ask: What have you enjoyed most about the role you currently hold? 🤔 What skills do you bring to this role that you haven't had the opportunity to use in your previous roles? 💡 How do you feel about working in a fast-paced environment? 🏃 What do you think sets you apart from other candidates? 🤗 What questions do you have for me? 🤝 I'm always looking to learn more about the interviewing process so if you have any tips or questions, please do share them! 🤓 #InterviewTips #RecruitingProcess #HiringProcess 🔎

Hiring Dilemma: When You're on the Fence About a Candidate We asked, and YOU answered! Our recent survey on handling uncertainty at the end of the interview process revealed that most of you would do a reference check. Now here's the Informed Decisions hot take: Sometimes, even after a full interview process, you're still not 100% sure. What then? If reference checks don't cut it, here's our 4-step Informed Decisions approach: 1️⃣ Transparency is key: Communicate your concerns to the candidate. 2️⃣ Respect their time: Offer compensation for any additional assessments and try to keep it down to one additional step. 3️⃣ Set clear expectations: Brief them on what's coming next. 4️⃣ Stay objective: Use structured interviews/assessments and scoring rubrics to focus on what matters. 💡 Pro tip: If you're frequently uncertain, it might be time to revamp your interview process! Staying on the Hiring Managers radar after interviewing for your dream job💭 You've just had an interview. What's next? How you stay on the hiring manager's radar can be just as pivotal as the interview itself. Here's a success story from one of my candidates that might just be your game-changer. 🚀 The candidate nailed the interview, but it was their post-interview strategy that sealed the deal. With follow-up emails expressing gratitude and reiterating their interest, they kept the conversation alive. Regular, yet respectful check-ins showcased their enthusiasm and dedication without crossing into pestering territory. What made the difference? It's all about balancing pertinence and persistence. Verifying next steps, providing additional information, or even sharing an article relevant to the discussed topics can tip the scales in your favour. This candidate did exactly that, and it worked! So, don't go silent after an interview. Keep the lines open, show your value, and be the candidate that's hard to forget. It's these small differences that can make a big impact. 📈 #InterviewTips #CareerGrowth #StayRelevant

Happy Wednesdsay! In a crowded market I am sure you want to stand out as the #1 candidate preparation is key: Before your interview, dedicate time to thoroughly research the company you're applying to. Familiarize yourself with their mission, values, recent news, and industry trends. Not only does this demonstrate your genuine interest, but it also equips you to ask informed questions during the interview. Asking thoughtful and relevant questions not only showcases your preparation but also helps you gain deeper insights into the company culture, expectations, and potential fit. Remember, interviews are not just about showcasing your qualifications but also about evaluating whether the company aligns with your career goals and values. Go get em!
