Last week Colchester Institute Furniture Level 2 & 3 learners had the pleasure of welcoming Jessica Beardsworth from Superstructures to our college today, where she delivered an insightful session on the importance of customer service. This talk was incredibly valuable for our furniture students, shedding light on how to effectively interact with clients and underscoring the importance of excellent communication skills. Jess emphasised the development of essential soft skills that are critical in any professional setting. She shared practical tips on: Using Eye Contact: Establishing a connection with clients and showing attentiveness. Appropriate Tone of Voice: Communicating clearly and respectfully to ensure messages are understood. Remembering Clients' Names: Building rapport and making clients feel valued. These skills are not just beneficial for customer interactions but are also vital in fostering professional relationships and creating positive first impressions. This activity perfectly complements our Level 2 Unit 225 on Professional Responsibilities, reinforcing the importance of professionalism in the workplace. Our students left the session inspired and better equipped to handle future client interactions with confidence and poise. For school cafeterias, it can: 1. Measure the space accurately for renovations or seating layouts. 2. Create renderings to get a realistic idea of how the renovations would look. 3.
