One of the biggest challenges our growing communities face is a simple one. They don’t know they are growing. In our research in rapidly changing cities across Australia, one in two people we surveyed were unaware of upcoming growth in their area. Only 15% had participated in urban change discussions in the past three years. Introducing communities to upcoming growth is the first and crucial step in preparing them for change. We are producing videos like the one below to enable councils to help their communities learn about this growth. Each is tailored to a specific LGA’s growth numbers and change priorities. Utah has the highest percentage of people living in "prosperous neighborhoods" in the country. This is twice the national average.
