A new open-access ‘aging atlas’ provides a detailed map of how cells and tissues age. Developed by the Wang Lab at HHMI’s Janelia Research Campus and collaborators at Baylor College of Medicine and Creighton University School of Medicine, the new atlas gives scientists an in-depth view of how individual cells and tissues in roundworms age and how different lifespan-extending strategies might stop the clock. 🔗 https://hhmi.news/3XrRWwe

Dr. Anastassia Voronova, an associate professor in the Department of Medical Genetics at University of Alberta, and her team have shed new light on the heart-brain connection in KBG syndrome. Their findings, which were published this week in the journal “Nature Communications,” demonstrate the role of ANKRD11 as regulator of neural crest-mediated heart development and function. Voronova, a member of the KBG Foundation Scientific Advisory Board, is one of five researchers who received Seed Funding Grants from the Foundation. So excited to present the abstract, "LincRNA-EPS promotes proliferation of aged dermal fibroblast by inducing CCND1" at the 2024 Annual Shock Society Conference! This abstract is cumulation of my research last summer at University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center under Dr. Xu, Department of Physiology, and advances knowledge of long intergenic non-coding RNAs (lincRNAs), exposing various pathways leading to cell growth. I gained valuable knowledge about innovative developments in shock and trauma care. This conference proved to be insightful, exciting, and a glimpse of what a future in scientific research holds!
