Closet Edit Day 2. KNITS and SWEATSHIRTS KNITS- Also referred to as polos or golf shirts. I know for a fact that most of you have way too many and don't wear most of them. Just because you got it for free at a golf event doesn't mean you have to keep it- and freebies are often cheaply constructed. Boxy, oversized or over-stretched knits aren’t doing you any favors- the fit is super unflattering and they have an overall sloppy appearance. What to keep? The ones you really like and make you feel good. I know many guys enjoy shirts with golf logos and that’s perfectly fine but my tip is to make sure to hold on to a few that have no logos at all- these knits look awesome with a sport coat and have an elevated feel that is on trend. SWEATSHIRTS- Sweatshirts take up a lot of prime space in your closet and many of us wear the same 2-3 over and over - so you'll get a great benefit from taking a hard whack here! Sweatshirts shrink, lose their comfy soft feel, get nubby, etc. - there are a million reasons we don't wear them. Purge away! Tomorrow... When it comes to the New Balance 574 sneaker, what can I say, I’m a fan. I’ve been a fan for several years. In fact, I have 21 pairs of them to prove it! Recently, I met with a couple friends, and since we haven’t connected in a while, I received their belated Christmas gift which was a book on the history of the 574. Super cool gift…and it got the creative juices flowing. You see, for the past couple months, I’ve been clamoring to create a personal project, but haven’t made time for it. However, after thumbing through that book and loving all of the photos of the shoes, I became extremely motivated to do something like that for myself. As a result, when I saw a gap in my shooting schedule, I decided to block out a couple days and create photos of my own sneakers. For 3 days, I took one shoe from each pair and went to town photographing them around my neighborhood. After shooting almost 1800 photos and delivering 665, the project was complete… And then, I created a page on my site to share both the photos and the experience of capturing them. It’s called the 21 Project - the following video explains the why and what in more detail. So, for all the sneakerheads out there, how do the photos look? Do I have a future in sneaker photography?
