Happy Wins Wednesday! I'm excited to share with you something we think is kind of fun – creating animated logos. In the early days of the Internet, there was a time when flashing, spinning, flaming logos were all the rage. Then, like most things in fashion, there was a reversal and things became very minimalist and the focus was on authenticity. That's STILL true, of course, but in 2024, we're looking to add a little bit of glitz and polish and professionalism in the aviation industry where we primarily serve. In this video, we showcasing 20 animated logos we've created for our clients by Canadian artist Brendon Reimer. We think each one a blend of polished professionalism and engaging design. These aren't just logos; we have an emotional attachment to each of these companies since we have history with them as a client. Why is it easier to offer advice and expertise to others, yet when it comes to ourselves, we find ourselves in the dark?! I realised I’ve been having a bit of an identity crisis since taking this leap into solopreneurship. I've felt hesitant and uncomfortable about fully embracing what makes me great at what I do and what distinguishes me in this field. And why? Fear of judgement of others. Namely other creative professionals. What is it with us creatives and imposter syndrome?! This insecurity arises from the fact I have two distinct client types, brands and families. The story I’ve been telling myself is that brands or agencies might dismiss me as being ‘just a family photographer’… When in actual fact there is nothing less creative about family photography, and since becoming a mum myself I have become so drawn documenting the most fleeting and impactful time in our lives. And that is a special thing. As a result, I’ve had the most basic website, showing a handful of diverse images and then gate keeping the specifics to landing pages to be accessed directly. For someone who is all about authenticity, that’s not very authentic… In my mission to break free from this, I've focused on what lies at the core of my work: the human experience. I have a natural talent for capturing honest and authentic emotions, experiences and expressions, and I truly believe those types of images are needed in every kind of project. People increasingly crave the real and the relatable, not the staged and contrived. So I’m taking my own advice, getting uncomfy, and owning my superpower. 🚨 BLOG IS LIVE!!! 🚨 Behind The Scenes: Filming Legacy’s Launch Video 🎥 Launching a new business is always an exciting journey, but there’s something uniquely special about capturing that moment on video. Back in late January, Pete from Sieve Studio joined us to carry out an encapsulating video shoot for the ages! Concept and Planning: Every incredible video starts with a vision. Our goal was to create a video that not only introduced our business but also conveyed the passion and dedication we bring to car transportation. We wanted viewers to feel the excitement and trust in our luxury services. The planning phase began with a storyboard; mapping out each scene to ensure we captured all the critical and unique elements of our service. We knew we needed shots of our fleet in action, the meticulous care we take with each vehicle and of course, some behind-the-scenes footage of our team. Shooting Day: Action! The shooting day began early in the morning, taking advantage of the soft dawn light for some breath-taking opening shots. We captured our fleet of Defenders and trailer companions rolling out of the dealership, symbolizing the start of a new journey! One of the most rewarding parts of the shoot was filming the Lotus loading process. We wanted to highlight the precision and care with which our team will handle each car. Using close-up shots, we managed to showcase the delicate process of loading vehicles onto our Race Transporters, emphasizing our commitment to safety and professionalism. Post-Production Magic: Once filming wrapped up, the magic of post-production began. Editing the footage was like piecing together a story line for Legacy. The addition of graphics helped emphasize key messages, like our commitment to timely deliveries and our state-of-the-art enclosed Race Transporters. Colour grading and sound design added the final polish, transforming raw footage into a cinematic masterpiece. The Grand Reveal: The culmination of all our hard work was the launch reveal video! Watching the video across all channels of social media was unforgettable experience. The positive feedback and fulfilment were a true testament to the effort and passion that went into creating it. Reflecting on the Journey: Filming the launch video for Legacy was an incredible experience that brought our team closer and allowed us to showcase what we truly stand for. It was more than just a marketing tool; it was a celebration of our journey and a promise of the exceptional service we aim to provide. The question suggests that the notion of photographs 'stealing souls' is primitive and without foundation and what one might expect pre-literate and pre-media societies to misunderstand, I'd like to present a different view. First, this has a parallel within Western thinking. Now this was a cool project! One dreamy day to video, photo and drone awesome cars around the Gold Coast hinterland. The mission, capture content for their website, e-magazine and socials. This was a run and gun setup – camera on a gimbal, where I was literally running, and loving it. Just get the shots while lucky people cruise multiple locations in their dream cars (and my dream cars, especially that GT63) The results? My client and their client are super-happy with lots of photos, multiple videos for various platforms – portrait and landscape. And just like that, now I am a Mercedes fan. Damn that powerful Mercedes branding! My key takeaways and tips. 1.    Of course be prepared, have a shot list, research locations, check weather, carry spare batteries – all that good stuff, but be prepared for things to change quickly, communicate with the client and learn to adapt – fast! 2.    Make people feel comfortable on camera and around a camera. Communicate and interact early with people, be one of the team, not an outsider. So by the end of the day they are used to you being there and don't even see the camera and are more open to interviews and being filmed – some of my best clips come from these moments!
