Why invest in #women? First, women are smart investors. Women and gender balanced fund management teams perform better financially—up to 20% higher net return. Women are also building high growth companies and solving the world’s most complex problems. Despite higher returns and greater impact, women remain underrepresented in the investment industry. This new technical brief, written by Chemonics International's #PrivateSectorEngagement practice and SAGANA, maps the ecosystem of support to emerging female fund managers. It analyses the challenges, opportunities, and levers to make capital allocation more gender diverse. When we put money into the hands of women, we unleash their economic power, creating a multiplier effect on downstream investments in women-led businesses, #HealthSystems, and #ClimateChange solutions. The recent findings from Level 20 are encouraging, showing a steady rise in the number of women in investment roles. With over a third of junior positions and 20% of mid-level investment roles now held by women, and a doubling of senior female professionals in the last five years from 6% to 12%, a small move in the right direction. But to make meaningful change we need to accelerate this momentum and truly empower females in finance. We need to provide females in investment roles with the capital they need to succeed, creating a more equitable and dynamic funding ecosystem in the process. https://lnkd.in/eRWi82qc The Invest in Women Taskforce is at the forefront of this effort, creating a £250m funding pot to ensure females in investment can access the necessary capital to excel. #FemalesinFinance #InvestinWomen
