9moI could not agree with this more! Just about every domain of healthcare training grooms individuals to be THE best. Not on the best TEAM. Then we ask them to fully participate in team work. And wonder why it's not successful. Leadership development is as much about leading self as it is about leading others. The neurobiology of leadership is fascinating. When each of us in healthcare can learn to lead ourselves to team work and innovation rather than individual performance and repetition of facts alone (those are important too... just not to the exclusion of the former)... healthcare will flourish!
