President of Kubota Tractor Corp., SVP of Kubota North America & Executive Officer of Kubota Corp.
It’s always great to see our investment commitments come to fruition. Yesterday, I had the chance to visit with KUBOTA Manufacturing of America President Brian Arnold and tour our new loader factory at the KMA Gateway Campus in Gainesville, Georgia. Real progress is underway, and the development is coming along quite nicely. I’m looking forward to this new facility being fully operational to support our business here in North America.

New model Kalmar's Heavy Terminal Tractor
Pros: Low maintenance and operation costs (latest technology) and improves cargo handling movement at the port terminal. Promotes safety to the terminal tractor operator/driver.
Cons: High capital expenditure (expensive to buy).
PS Safety of workers at port should be the top priority as prior to the container throughput.
Did you know the Manitou name was chosen to embody a vehicle that ‘handles everything’?
In 1958 Manitou pioneered the very first all-terrain forklift truck. Marcel Braud, the visionary founder of Manitou, conceived an innovative machine by reimagining the conventional farm tractor layout.
He added a lifting mast and introduced hydraulic steering, giving birth to the world’s first all-terrain forklift truck. This ingenious creation not only propelled the company to success but also established its global influence.
“I needed to find a name for these trucks… Thus, MANITOU was born, a name chosen during a family brainstorming session, symbolizing a vehicle that can ‘handle everything’!
Pronounceable in all languages, it was the perfect choice for international expansion!” – Marcel Braud, Founder of Manitou
Initially tailored for the construction sector, the MC 5 boasted a 500 kg load capacity. Fast forward to 2017, a revamped version of this historic forklift, the MC 18, entered the market with an impressive 1.8-tonne load capacity.
Since the inception of the very first all-terrain forklift truck, Manitou has remained steadfast in its pursuit of innovation, a driving force behind the brand’s remarkable achievements.
