It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our partner, colleague, and dear friend, Michael Sundance Walsh, on July 1, 2024. Mike was not only a remarkable attorney whose contributions, dedication, and spirit helped shape our journey and success, he was a cherished friend who had a smile for absolutely everyone. Mike was one of a kind, and for over 25 years at KD, where he started as an associate and ultimately became an equity partner, his commitment to excellence and unwavering advocacy for our clients earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues, judges, clients, and his very devoted team. But it was sense of humor, genuine kindness, and desire to befriend everyone, that set him apart. He was the life of the party, always ready with a joke, and had more friends than one could count. Mike was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, graduated from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, and earned his Juris Doctorate Degree from St. Thomas University. He was a faithful and vociferous Celtics and Patriots fan, always ready to prove their prowess to anyone at any time. He had a soft spot for animals, and was a steadfast supporter of local shelters and the Humane Society. Mike enriched our lives in countless ways. As we mourn this tremendous loss, we also celebrate Mike’s life and legacy. We invite clients, colleagues, and friends to join us in honoring Mike’s memory. In these difficult times, our thoughts and prayers are with Mike's family. We extend our deepest condolences to them and ask that you keep them in your thoughts as well. Calling hours for Mike will be held on Saturday, July 13th from Noon until 3:00 p.m. at O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue. In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to the Worcester Animal Rescue League, 139 Holden Street, Worcester, MA 01606.
It is saddenning to hear this awful news. I was blessed to spend time with Mike over the years, he is a true warrior with a kind heart. So sorry for this tremendous loss to Mike’s family and also to our fraud fighting families. He will truly be missed. God bless you, Mike and may YOU rest in peace 🙏🏻❤️
Mike was what everyone seeks in all aspects of life, a true partner. He will be greatly missed.
I’ll never forget when Mike spoke at the KD retreat. He taught us about perseverance. His personality was huge in the best way. Everyone loved him. I doubt he even realized how many people he reached with his humor and friendship. He will be missed by so many. May his memory be a blessing.
What a huge loss. Will always remember his sense of humor. May his memory be a blessing.
I am so sorry for your loss and for his family’s loss. Mike was a terrific human being and although we may have competed for the same business, he was always there to share his knowledge with us and was a true ally. Mike, you will be missed!
Mike set a high standard as both an attorney with his professionalism, intellect, and ethics, and as a person. He was kind, caring, and genuine. My condolences to his family and his work family. He will be missed.
This is extremely sad news. Michael was a valued speaker at many FIFEC Conferences, offering presentations on a variety of interesting and relevant topics. His presentations were always insightful, engaging, well received and appreciated. He was a loyal FIFEC supporter for decades. We hope that the clear evidence of a life well-lived, although an all too short one, and the many strong, positive impacts he made will provide some comfort and solace to his family and many friends and associates. He will be missed, but we are forever blessed and grateful for his presence in our lives. Thank you kind sir for all you did for so many. May God keep you in His loving care. Our thoughts and prayers to his family and all who miss him.
Sending my prayers to his friends, family, and KD family 🤍 He was always the funniest guy in the room without even trying. May his memory be a blessing.
Florida Personal Injury Protection Defense Attorney | Representing Insurers in PIP and Medical Payments Coverage Claims
3moThe wonderful thing about insurance defense is that “competitors” are not really “competitors”. There is always enough to go around, and if you are doing it right, your competitors become your friends and resources. I had the absolute pleasure of litigating PIP suits “with” Mike for decades on behalf of our mutual clients. We have been at many of the same meetings, attended endless conference calls, and exchanged strategy and orders. He was helpful, good natured, funny, and held an impressive big-picture view of PIP litigation that I admired. Mike, I hope you rest in God’s peace. Kubicki Draper, your friends at Taylor Day mourn this loss with you.
