conscious integration is the key.

For some time since post-covid, we've been talking about flex at work. While there's different views on these plus hybrid working, what truly matters is the outcome especially in the global environment we are in with different timezone etc. Thankful to be in a performance driven/ result orientated place instead of one that measure output based on hours at work. People manager must be aware that the level of flex should be extended differently based on the maturity and output each individual deliver. It should never be a one size fit all approach either.

What work life balance can look like in a FWA world- Just going on “hours” instead of “outcomes” - this is a great visualization on how individuals can maximize their work hours around their lives. For me, Work-life balance is a personal choice and isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution. It requires self-awareness, flexibility, and sometimes negotiation with employers to find the right mix that supports overall well-being and productivity. Ultimately, it’s about crafting a life where work and personal aspirations coexist harmoniously, contributing to both professional success and personal fulfilment.

Hybrid work has given me many freedoms I never thought possible, but with those comes the added complexity to work/life balance. I see work/life as more of an integration than balance. My career greatly affects my personal life and vise-versa. Therefore I like looking at them more as symbiotic aspects of life than completing aspects. For instance, I'm very available: - To friends needing help moving - To co-workers needing help with a project - To family members needing help with a kiddo for a few hours - To my managers needing me to jump on a call This value of being #responsive to my personal and professional life helps me become who I want to be: Someone who actively communicates and jumps to action in an effort to serve those around me excellently.
