RID: Christmas Puddings More about RID: https://buff.ly/40vdIP6 No, 2b Acting’s Remote Interactive Displays (RID) has nothing to do with Christmas puddings but the title does illustrate the point I will be touching on in this post. Using RID for Signage provides additional information to support the displayed message no matter how cryptic it is. Even better, the setup of a typical Signage RID is very simple. To explain, let’s walk through an example setup. The setup In the portal, upload a signage video. You can use a RID template with a sliding text tag if you do not want to make a video. With this the Signs text message horizontally scrolls across the display screen in large letters. When this is done the portal will automatically generate three RID Links. 1. The display RID link. Use this on a browser computer connected to the signage display so it is visible to anyone that needs to see the message or if your sign is not a video use the phantom display setting. 2. The controller RID link is not really needed unless you want to remotely stop and start the display if you have one. 3. The remote RID QR code for people to connect to the sign. I would suggest including the remote QR code in the Signage video so it can be scanned at any time or setting RID to periodically show the QR code on the display. Alternatively, print it out and display it near the sign if it is not a video. Now set up information tags to support the different Signs in your video to let the connected mobile devices know more about the messages. That’s it. RID for signs is ready. So even if one of your signs read, ‘Christmas pudding’ it doesn’t matter. Viewers can quickly find out what it means. Is this useful?
