Our colleagues at Imperial College Business School's Centre for Climate Finance & Investment explored the frontiers of climate finance yesterday, with speakers including CGFI's Michael Wilkins, Yllka Hysaj, Ralf Toumi, Rowan Douglas CBE and Emma Howard Boyd CBE.   Some thoughts/takeaways from CGFI's data and analytics perspective:   📈 The need to share and use climate data and models in finance is urgent and growing if FIs are to understand what makes an opportunity sustainable; where their transition pathway lies; asset exposures to climate risks - and much more.   ⚠️ But they also need to understand gaps, limitations and uncertainties in data and models, or they risk misallocating capital.   👀 There is much relevant climate/environmental/geospatial data, modelling and expertise within academia, and early-stage businesses are also driving practical innovation - FIs should engage both and encourage open, granular data.
