We just love this story about beginning teacher Jaimee Pearson who is kicking off her career at her old primary school, St Monica's Primary Richmond, and turning some of her own teachers into colleagues. Current teacher Helen Harper fondly recalls Jaimee in her Year 5 class and isn't surprised she has come back to "the most beautiful little community". 25-year-old Jaimee is the youngest of four generations in her family to attend St Monica's, where her mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and countless cousins have spent their formative school years. 🛑 RECOMMENDATIONS: Any Schools\Consoulers\Administrators interested in our Junior Academy program coming into their school? 👀 Our mission at MANUP Global is to work with a middle school and high school to help our young black boys have access to tools and resources to evolve into accountable student leaders. The challenge we’ve been having is many kids don’t want to stay after school to participate so we need schools who are willing to allow us to navigatete the programming for 45mins-hour during school hours. Our track record speaks for itself – our program is proven to be beneficial. These statistics below highlight the urgent need for programs like our Junior Academy to provide mentorship, guidance, and resources to empower young Black boys to become accountable leaders in their communities. So, let's rally education advocates! TAG them for me and let's make meaningful connections!

Cheers to Teacher Appreciation Week! Let's give a big shoutout to all the amazing educators out there who are making a difference, especially in TRANSFORM Nebraska! This week, the NDCS Education team came together for a symposium to foster collaboration and hone their skills. Teachers in prisons aren't just sharing knowledge; they're changing lives. Education isn't just about learning facts; it's about challenging assumptions and creating new possibilities. Big props to the teachers building real connections with their students, fostering trust, respect, and empowerment. Education isn't just about textbooks; it's about redefining identities and imagining new futures. 💭💡 #TeacherAppreciationWeek #TransformingLives #EducationMatters #People

As we celebrate Black History Month, I thought I’d share this video I recently came across while waiting for a flight in Atlanta. I had just ran from the very end of Gate T1 to Gate D39 with 15 mins to catch the connection in Atlanta due to a flight delay…and watched defeatedly, panting as the door shut just as I almost reached the gate. But being forced to take a later flight might have been a blessing as I wouldn’t have seen this video. It is not only inspirational in so many ways, but a reminder to never judge a book by its cover. Education does not equate to wisdom, I have met plenty of idiots with fancy degrees just as I am often impressed by my parents’ wisdom, despite never receiving education beyond an eighth grade level. The old guy collecting cans to recycle in a shopping cart roaming the streets of San Francisco might be a multimillionaire, just as the fellow in the fancy luxury sports car may be almost bankrupt from debt. We’ve heard stories of individuals who everyone thought were dead broke because they were so frugal and stingy, but then leave millions in their will to good community causes after they pass. Let’s see people beyond superficial perceptions with first or even second impressions, and really get to know them for who they really are… #wisdom #education #postsecondaryeducation #college #inspirationalleaders #inspiration #blackhistorymonth #lifeadvice #humility #parents #bekind #speeches #graduation #inspiration #storiesthatmatter Kind Capital
