I’m tired of hearing: “If you vacation, DON’T WORK!” I’m currently on a workation... (Here’s why I love it): 👇🏼 ❌ I work 40+ hours here and have no time to relax. ✅ I work a few hours, but on the most crucial tasks. ❌ In busy seasons, I can’t vacation with my family. ✅ I can spend time with family & get things done. ❌ The resort and kids totally distract me all day. ✅ The kids can go off on their own + I get focus time. Let’s stop pretending... There’s no system that fits everyone. Depending on whether you have kids, where you live, who you are, how you work (and more), you’ve to identify how YOU take time off and how YOU work effectively. This is what works for me! What makes it easier too: I love the work I do every day! That’s why we allow our employees to go on a planned workation for at least 1 week/ year. Have you been on a workation before? P.S. Awake Origins is hiring. However, we’re not entirely sure what we’re calling the person (yet). We can tell you that it’s a fully remote, part-time, position on a CET timezone and that you’d be working directly with both myself and Joel aan 't Goor (we’re the Co-Ceo’s). Now, instead of giving the position we’re hiring for a full title, I thought what better way than to explain our problem, and if it sounds like you’re the type of person that can solve it…we’d LOVE to hear from you. The problem: 1. Our calendars are a mess. Why? Fast paced environment, constantly changing, what was true yesterday is no longer valid tomorrow. We thrive on our flexibility and yet we need someone who has full grip on calendars, events and dates. 2. We have the challenge of a double role which both could be full time: we are co-CEOs running the daily business and we are lead facilitators → sometimes we disappear and are unreachable for 72h in the middle of nature or on a boat while the business must keep on going. 3. A lot of information and processes are still stored in our head. We are building a team that puts this knowledge into systems, processes and workflows. You can’t be shy to ask questions or challenge our way of thinking. Simply put, we need someone who can work with two very different leaders who will have our back and be truly by our side so we can step up to centre stage knowing everything is still running. The solution: - We want to find someone who is meticulous, experienced and detail-oriented. - You thrive off independence and you aren’t afraid to use your initiative. - You’ll chase us to ensure nothing falls off the table. - You should also be on board with the concept of uniting the world of consciousness and business in yourself. This might sound a little bit like a Personal Assistant role, but it could be something more along the lines of Executive Assistant, Liaison Manager or the Calm to our Chaos officer. We’re looking for: Great organisation Email extraordinaire A gate keeper to our calendars Tracker of projects Impeccable listening Curiosity Someone who can bring clarity and structure into chaos Remember, this is a part-time role sitting at around 20-hours per week. ATTENTION HELPY-HELPERSON'S TYPES ON LI...... If you're gonna say that such and such company is truly hiring remote.   If you're gonna claim that such and such company's sales reps are earning $X. If you're gonna disseminate X amount of job openings at X amount of companies. Then we're at a point now where: You'd better have a personal relationship with the head of TA/HR and have vetted each of those companies for veracity that you say are hiring REMOTE You'd better have worked at the company and earned $X yourself with your own eyeballs on several other W-2s and commission statements of the same amount. You'd better have talked to a hiring manager to CONFIRM whether the position is actively open and being interviewed for or not (job postings are not the litmus test!...or didn't ya know?, recruiters are largely full of shit and don't know their ass from anything as they continue to post the same gig over and over for months on end) Otherwise, respectfully........kindly shut the f*ck up and stop trying to help. All you're doing is contributing to the wild goose chase that you're sending everyone on with a cacophony of shittly qualified information under the guise of trying to be a "source" of help.  Now now, don't be mad.  All the sane people realize that you're probably on the DSM-5 manual of mental disorders that are causing you to want/need to be SEEN doing all this extra "help" and posing as the next rat in the race for "thought leadership" and "leverage" so that your ghastly psychotic Tech employer will SEE that you're pledging allegiance to the mantra. We get it.  We do.  We just don't sympathize.  We all like going to the Zoo.....no doubt.  Most of us don't like having a bunch of shit slung at us by the gorillas (even though I know some of them personally)!  Thanks anyway.  Your meds are waiting!  

In-state vs remote hiring trends: Per Carta, among Carta companies of all sizes, out-of-state hiring has increased over the past several years. Still true in 2023 for the fourth consecutive year for companies valued between $1M and $25M.
