'I have seen a few jobs that I liked the looks of, but didn't bother applying as I saw that they already had over 100 applicants.' This is something that I have heard more and more over the past few weeks from people who are looking for a new role. Although job adverts are receiving a huge amount of applications, not all are an exact match and my advice is always to apply anyway. I would also say that if there is something that genuinely excites you about a role, reach out and tell the recruiter why as this can go a long way to securing a first interview! #manchesterjobs #dataanalytics #datajobs

It is so strange how within a pin drop all of your #confidence can be ripped away. All while during #interviews we only hear how impressed they are or “checked all the boxes” this market is never a done deal even at the final interview with the last exec. So today got some #badnews. A company who I have been interviewing with for a few weeks and even worked with me when my daughter arrived early gave me the call of “you are no longer in consideration”. They had pushed me through multiple rounds in the last week and I did a pretty intense take home #technical. I was feeling very confident in myself as a candidate and as if I had a good shot at getting an #offer. Well today is not that day. I do appriciate all the time they worked with me and getting an actual #phonecall instead of a generic email but still not giving any #feedback after 4 rounds (amounting to almost 10 hrs including technical of interviews) seems wrong to me. The recruiter did mention they would try and get me feedback but we will see. To this company I do want to say I was very excited and looking forward to this job. Not because it has been a long #jobhunt but that I truly believed in this company and product. I also had very high hopes as this company was willing to work with me when I needed to step back to spend a few weeks with my new child and imo that says a lot about the #culture of a company. It is very hard in this #jobmarket and as any parent will say “I am not angry but disappointed…”. I will also not allow this to discourage me in my search. Good luck #jobseeker, hope the offer and new role comes soon. #data #dataengineering #dataengineer

Business Scientist, Educator & Researcher | Marketing Data Science, Machine Learning, R, Python | I Help Accelerate Your Small Business Growth
I once applied for a job through the company's official system, filling what seemed to be an endless application form, manually entering the details of my education, work experience, awards, EVERYTHING! As a final step at the application system, I was prompt to upload my CV! I uploaded my CV, mistakenly using a different email than the one I used in the system! Guess what? I got a reply at the email used in my CV! So I can agree: it's just another filter 😁😅
Sending strength to everyone on the job hunt! Back when I was job searching, filling in my resume details was my least favorite part of the entire process…even including technical interviews! Manually entering all of my resume details over and over…and over and over…was such a painful experience 🫠 Why do companies put so much effort into the user experience of their products, but seemingly close to zero effort into the user experience of applicants? Is it just another filter to cut down the pool of applicants? Is the thinking “well, if you want the job enough, you’ll take the time and effort to fill out the application.” I’m not sure…but it can be quite the bad first impression in my opinion 😬 Anyway, hopefully this becomes a thing of the past someday! 🧙♂️ Best of luck in your job search! Job offers are like busses 🚌 You could be waiting ages for one and then all of a sudden 3 come at the same time 😅 This is important to note from two sides of the table, both as a hiring manager and as a job seeker ⛷️ From a job seeker perspective, don't get disheartened after a rejection or two, keep the head up, stay positive, the bus will come ✅ From a hiring manager perspective, the people you are interviewing are also interviewing elsewhere, speed up your process to get ahead of the competition ✅ #DataInterviews #HiringTips #InterviewTips #DataEngineer #MachineLearning

Pro Tip: Don’t apply to a role if you meet 100% of the qualifications. Who wants to work in a role they're perfectly qualified for and enjoy doing? Instead, apply for roles where you meet less than 10% of the qualifications. Bonus Tip: Once you get an interview, please plant listening devices everywhere to analyze the data and manipulate the interviewer. If all else fails, you've got a backup plan! Me: Adds 'Professional Eavesdropper' to my resume under 'Special Skills.' #jobinterview #jobsearchjourney #worklifebalance #survivalskills

Seeking Full Time Data Analyst roles | RIT Business Analytics Graduate | Experienced Data Analyst in SQL, Power BI, and Data Analytics | Enhancing Donation through Strategic Data Insights | Analyzer and Data Story Teller
I just found out that I got rejected for a role. It's the sixth company that rejected me after the interview. Am I disappointed? Maybe Will I have to do the entire job search again? Yes, absolutely Have I given up? Absolutely not Is this my fault? Nope Some positives to keep myself going:- 1. I have been able to get better responses from hiring managers and recruiters compared to December. 2. I have given at least one or two interviews per month since December. 3. My resume passes through ATS frequently in comparison to December. The market has not been kind but at the same time I have been able to make some progress. This process has definitely not been rewarding but being consistent is the only key to winning this game. #jobsearch #opt #dataanalyst #f1students

How many applicants for a job posting are actually qualified and in the country? #RecruitingTips #JobSearch #QualifiedApplicants So, have you ever come across a job posting with hundreds of applicants and wondered... how many of them are actually qualified? 🤔 I recently had an interview for a specialist role with over 800 applicants, and it got me thinking. Lead Data Engineer | LinkedIn Top Voice🔝 2024 | Content Creator 👨🏫 | Writes to 114K+ | 6X Azure Certified data engineer | I Love @ Data
Today I received an interview call, immediately I referred this call to 2 of my colleagues and one friend and one mentee..... I receive regular calls, DM's, messages on LinkedIn like today, even If I am not open to work( I believe that's because of my profile.) Some roles is not matched to me, some roles have higher expectations which I may not full fill, I redirect all these calls to people who I know. This job is even easier for me, when I am switching jobs, cause I receive high volume of calls, which I can't attend everyone. this helped few of friends in last of couple of months, some of them have got the offers, others are in the process, somebody gets at least interview experience. "Think of doing this smaller help" when you can't do bigger things for them. I believe in smaller steps rather bigger. do you ever helped your friends this way?? #comment down do follow Ajay Kadiyala ✅ #referral #friends #colleagues #jobs #jobpostings #interviewcalls #interviewexpectations #dataengineering #bigdata
