Job Titles "What is the title of the position" is a common question I field- and it's a fair one. The larger an organization, the more weight the title carries. They can clearly define responsibilities, hierarchies, and pay bands. But in smaller organizations, they're flexible. A "Project Engineer" at a smaller company may have the same expertise & seniority as a "Senior Associate II" or "Electrical Engineer V" at a larger one. When interviewing with smaller firms, it'll serve you to approach the conversation with these nuances in-mind, and to ask questions appropriately. "What do you need me to be able to hit the ground running with?" "What skills would I be expected to develop with time, and what sort of runway would I have to develop them?" "What's the current makeup of the team, and where do you see me fitting in?" There's an inherent pro & con in working at a smaller firm where job descriptions come with a certain fluidity. The 'pro' is you get to wear many hats. Incidentally, so is the 'con'.

Writing a simple résumé for manufacturing roles involves highlighting your technical skills, relevant experience, and education in a clear and concise format. Better your chances to get the interview! Here’s a basic outline to help you get started: 1. **Contact Information** - Full Name - Phone Number - Email Address - LinkedIn Profile (optional) - City and State (optional) 2. **Professional Summary (Optional)** This is a brief 2-3 sentence summary of your experience, skills, and what you bring to the role. Tailor it to the specific job you are applying for. 3. **Skills** This section highlights your technical and soft skills relevant to the job. Use bullet points to list them. 4. **Experience** List your work experience in reverse chronological order (most recent job first). Include job title, company name, location, and dates of employment. Use bullet points to describe your key responsibilities and accomplishments. **Assembly Technician** XYZ Technologies, Peoria, IL **May 2017 – May 2020** - List Responsibilities 5. **Education** Include your educational background, including degrees, certifications, and any relevant coursework.
